TBH, if an athlete or celebrity gets marked in a sex for higher sting, they only care because it's now big news. They will focus on the ladies/agencies/other celebs linked, and continue to give little fucks about the laides/agencies/average joe clients not involved in the one mega newsworthy scandal. And, no, they are not going to go looking just because of the gambling bust. Slow down Poncho. Their hands are full at the moment and they are more concerned with who else was involved than what other scandelous activities they might have participated in.
Furthermore, most of us are participating in adult activities with adults who have made the choice. There are still street walkers being controlled by pimps who are under age that they can hardly get a grip on. That's a much bigger problem. Exhibit A:

if that will filter down to the hobby with some of these players being scrutinized about how they have spent their money or them getting audited and can't explain pulling $1000's out of the bank with regularity?
I think it's either senility or tertiary syphilis.
Old man, if you’re going to reply with ad hominem insults, keep that on the P&R Forum, per TER guidance. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Given all the fears some people express about their participation in this activity I wonder how some of them even get out of bed in the morning, much less out their door to work.
I pull 1000s out of the back regularly, sometimes get more some times less questioning from the bank teller to comply with their regulatory requirements but it is never a "investigation" nor is anything obviously filed other than perhaps the transaction which occurs anyhow.
Really, why would you connect these as something to be worried about. What about ever other gambler's withdrawal habits or those of big lottery winners?
I have no ”worries” about it. Just wondering if prostitution enters the conversation.
I don't get it. If you're worried about IRS, they aren't concerned with you and withdrawing money. If they want to audit you (and how exactly the hobbying angle plays here I'm not sure, seems like a reach) they typically want to know if you withheld your income. They also will be interested in any large purchases that exceed your reported income.
You're allowed to withdraw money and do whatever you want with it. You can put 10k under the mattress. Or you can gift a friend 10k. Hell you can give 10k to a random panhandler. How you got that money is infinitely more interesting to most organizations.
Now if you talking about the good ol' bureau... unless you're a suspect in some illegal shit they also not gonna bother. No one will track withdrawals of a John unless John is a person of interest.Having to prove you used cash withdrawn to buy some p4p fun would be a nightmare for them.
...are saying this is the tip of the iceberg and goes across all major pro and college sports. Just throwing out a random thought if the gambling will eventually tie into parties and hookers. It's really surprising to see a few of you get triggered by it, lol. If it's that troubling to read, move on. Or fuck off, either way is fine.
Adam Silver, since 2014 is the NBA commissioner
People aren't being triggered, we just don't understand how the gambling arrests are tied to this business? You still haven't really explained why. The arrests were tied to unusual betting activity coupled with suspicious game activity. Then there were also sharing of privileged injury details that would give betters unfair competitive advantage. It has nothing to do with investigating bank accounts for withdrawals, which mind you would be illegal without warrants being exercised. I don't even think they are looking at the bank accounts, they have the betting records for specific transactions!
Gambling fraud including young pro athletes and the mob…the only part missing IS Vegas and hookers. Why Vegas? Because that’s what people associate with sports gambling and yes I’m well aware many states now allow it to the tune of $150B a year.
Sorry I distracted a few of you dipshits from your daily Babylongirls pillow talks.
This case has put a spotlight on the off court actions of NBA players. Will the scrutiny turn up NBA player involvement with providers? The poker games had mob involvement. Were providers at the games? Granted this is TMZ level news, but any publicity surrounding this biz is not good publicity.
Thanks for the correction, you're absolutely right. Still, the NBA was alerted to it, investigated and covered it up. The cover up almost always becomes a bigger issue than the original sin. There's way too much money involved in sports betting for this to not become a massive issue.
Original point was, where will it go? No, I'm not concerned about IRS issues or any other of the rantings by mongers triggered by my OP.
NBA was alerted in March OF 2023. Faking an injury to cover a under on minutes played is hard to prove. The NBA doesn't have subpoena power where the FBI has, along with..say a Gilbert Arenas.
And to add, NBA Ballers carry 10,15, and 20k around like its chump change to them.
You're looking for something, that really shouldn't be a concern. Athletes spending 1k or more on hookers isn't something that will draw attention.
There's alot of talk about how the FBI handled this but to discuss here....not appropriate
