Interesting article on Yahoo Sports regarding the "courting" of LeBron prior to the free agency period. Apparantly as far back as 2007, NBA officials and Olympic coaches realized he was a huge problem due to his immaturity and ridiculous demands and he almost wasn't  selected for the 2008 Dream Team because he's such a jackass. Like many highly successful athletes, he's surrounded by an entourage of "yes men" who tell him he's the greatest and that nothing he does is wrong.

One of the local writers here in Birmingham had an article the other day about how Keven Durant quietly signed an extension with the Thunder "without Stuart Scott drooling over him."

Stuart really gets on my nerves. During the playoffs it seemed like every time he addressed Magic Johnson he'd call him "Magic Johnson Hall of Famer Laker Legend." Pardon my language but people know who the fuck he is!

Am I condoning his childish bullshit behavior?  Such as "the decision" and his powder blow outs before games and his singing and bobbing his head to the music?  NO.  But I also think he finds the game fun, and because he does stupid little shit like that, it brings morale to the team and gets them pumped up.  Makes them want to do better and try to show the crowd why they can act like they do.  

The decision, that's a whole other story.  Regardless, it was bullshit, childish and outlandish at best.  When he gets old like Kobe, he'll hit the dream team as well though LOL.  (Please note, old is being used in sports terms not in mine!!!)

In that article that I read on Yahoo sports, it stated that the idea for the announcement "special" was LeBron's managers idea and try as they might, no one could convince Lebron that it was a bad idea. His attitude seemed to be that the Cleveland Fans were gonna be mad anyway, so who cares.
