It's been darn long enough!!!  He should have taken it in the first place, but oh well.

I guess he felt like testing the free agent market, even though no one else could give him as much money as the Lakers. Still, it helps keep the Lakers as the team to beat in the West.

I think he was hoping to get more, because what he is getting now is less than the expired contract.
