Great to see Chipper Jones selected as an All-Star reserve. Last year, there were many people (I was one, sad to say) who opined that he should retire along with Bobby Cox. Happily for the Braves, Chipper ignored us naysayers, got healthy, and is having a fine season.

I haven't watched an all-star games in any of the 4 major sports in years.

That Jeter makes the All Star team but has only played in 63 games,
is hitting at a .256 clip (tied for 50th in the AL)
has 20 RBI's (tied for 102 in the AL)
has a whopping.320 OBP and SLG % (tied for 50 and 73rd in the AL)
and only has 68 hits (tied for 55th in the AL)

Is he REALLY the best shortstop in the AL this year?

I understand how the fan balloting works and he's got name recognition and a high % on New Yorkers make irrational decisions than the rest of the country, but still.....

And

How stupid is this. As a coaches decision, Sabathia doesn't make the team?   Was that payback?
