After being up 3-0 in the 3rd set, Williams lost to Sabine Lisicki of Germany, a 5'10" blonde hottie with a killer pair of legs. At least now we don't have to listen to the media fawning over Serena's every move.

ere are only 5 women (Court, Graff, Martina, Chris and Wills-Moody) who have more grand slam titles than Serena. She has had an unbelievable career. In reality, since Maritina Hingis's run in the late 1990's, women's professional tennis has consisted of the Williams sisters and everybody else over roughly the past 13 years.  

You are right on the media. They have given the Williams sisters a pass for their behavior on and off the court (as they do with Tiger Woods). The bottom line is that when they win (Serena more so than Venus) they are both extremely charming and personable women. When they loose, they act like spoiled tempestuous brats who rarely give credit to an opponent. It is what it is.  

But whatever your feelings are on the Williams sisters, Serena will go down as one of the alll time greats ever to play. Venus is a lower level hall of famer, but still with an extraordinary career as well.

Serena is one of the great of all times , the greatest of the last ten years .
   Serena's  record is not nearly as strong  as  Martina's  number 1 .  

and I don't mean in the va jay jay. Just goes to show even future hall of famers can get tight at the end of a match.  BTW, this thread reads like the Michael  vs: Lebron thread below.  Until a current player, regardless of what sport finishes their career, it's hard to make an accurate comparison.

Now how bout  doubles, and I'm not talking tennis doubles, I'm talkin' with Serena and Sabine.
