He had a great run, but was way past it the last few years.

ESPN 'Outside The Lines' just ran a story that Shaq is retiring due to a nagging Achilles heel injury.  Jackie McMullen gave an interesting stat during her interview with OTL. She said that Boston was 21-4 with Shaq in the lineup, and Rondo averaged about 16 assists per game because other teams had to commit a body to O'Neal.

He had a great run, but was way past it the last few years.

He was a disappointment for the Suns, and a major disappointment for the Cavs. No damage to his legacy, but he should have retired after the 2006 championship and gone out a winner. His ego wouldn't let him, though.
