Apparently a Casino "hostess" has alleged she was raped a year ago by Ben Roethlesberger in Lake Tahoe.  Obviously, I have no idea as to the what happened.  But waiting a year to come forward sure makes it look like a "money grab", doesn't it?

I was just thinking the same thing. In this horrible economy, people are prone to do just about anything to make a buck!

you can't sue Civil unless a criminal case have been investigated.  Any lawyers know??

because the conviction can be used as evidence in the civil case and since the standard of proof is not as severe in a civil case, it's usually a slam dunk.

In the O.J. case even though he was acquitted by a criminal jury, the civil jury found for the plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit for $ because of the lower standard of proof required.

In this case the woman said she didn't file criminal charges because she was afraid of losing her job. Who knows, but she will have a difficult time proving her case.

to prove anything in my opinion but civilly you do not need reasonable doubt and all 12 jurors do have to agree, he may be out of some loot if he had any contact with her sexually.
