Here's an important question for all the lovely foodie Seattleites: Let's say you schedule a somewhat last minute dinner date for a Friday or Saturday night and don't have a reservation. Where do you eat?!
Here's my solution: Go see how long the wait is at Taylor Shellfish on Melrose. They do walk-in only and if you score a wait less than a half hour, then you you get to see your favorite escort work over a dungeoness crab. What a treat! If the wait is too ridiculous, then try one of the other fabulous restaurants right on that block! Terra Plata and Mamnoon won't let you down. Cheers!
I don't dine out much in the city but most places on the north end dont require reservations. And if it's only a solo/duo - getting a walk in table is likely doable anywhere.
my recs for near town Ramen danbo in capitol hill is walk up only and the line moves quickly. In the winter weather, a hot bowl of salty soup can be exhilarating Musang, upscale Filipino food near Beacon Hill. They always keep a table open for walk INS as their goal is to be the community restaurant first before serving reservation patrons.
