I'm off this afternoon for my annual trek to Montana, flying solo as always. I love the feeling of speeding down an empty highway in my beat up truck as I head for the land of adventure. Lately, my daydreams have been focused on having a successful hunt. In my hunting fantasy, I arrive in Big Timber on the 20th and bag my doe within the hour. Then I put the rifle away and break out the bow. I turn around to head back home, making my 2nd stop in Kettle Falls where I nab a 6 point buck at 20 yards. My arrow pierces the heart and drops my prey on the spot. Away goes the bow and out comes the shotgun. At Potholes in Moses Lake, I limit out on ducks. As I truck along the highway, Thorpe is calling for me to claim my spike bull elk. Of course no hunting trip is complete without a couple of pheasants! Cherry Valley is the perfect place to drop some birds. I arrive home next Wednesday with enough game to feed me for the next year.
I'll be home late Wednesday, probably empty handed, lol. Last year I keep an on the road journal which I posted daily to my yahoo group. I will try to do the same this year. Hopefully I can get more photos of this year's trip. Once I'm home and have had a chance to recooperate, I will be entertaining at my place Thursday through Sunday 9am to 5pm. My pledge to you is that I will refrain from any frisky behavior, especially with myself. I will be overdue for play upon my return
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Wish me luck
