I most certainly think they do, given the drop in rates I've seen here and there.

Just as a significant minority of us have lost our jobs and another significant minority have had pay cuts, a significant minority of providers have dropped rates and many are offering "specials".

They don't live under rocks!  If they're popular enough, the recession won't impact them that directly.

Of course we know we're living in a recession. Many of us have or are offering specials and lowering rates as noted above.
In my case, I have made adjustments for loyal long-term clients by extending sessions, for example.
And I also occasionally offer specials for TER members.

It's a profession, sure; but these ladies are sharing a very intimate part of themselves each and every time they perform their service.  This is different than almost any other profession.  When you step back and look at it, it's easy to see the internal struggle that must take place when trying to make a business decision in such a context of intimacy and the opening up of yourself to the client (no pun intended (well, OK, maybe a little one)).  That struggle is very counter intuitive of regular business practice, and leads to delay in market adjustment.

Think about it this way.  You as a hobbyist consider how much money it would take for you to:

put an ad on the internet offering yourself;
Book a Hotel Room;
Receive responses to the ad, trying to screen out the love-sick, psychos, cops, and love-sick psycho cops;
Answer the knock at the door, opening it to someone you don't know, and who could very well assault, rape, rob, or bust you;
and then bend over and take it in the ass.

Now imagine that nobody was paying the value you chose: how hard would it be for you to change reduce that value that you've put on yourself?

Great question, and something that I'm sorry to say we will be struggling with for awhile.

It's interesting to finally see a gentleman actually visulaize what it is like for these ladies.  

It also starts to answer the oft-asked question of "How can they charge such sums?....".  The answer, in part, is to try and envision ones self in their place.

Well, I know business owners are having problems with the situation right now. I think we should go on STRIKE till many lower Lower their rates.

For those of you (guys) who want to bend over, go right ahead. I support you all the way.

I just did a quick search on the TER providers in SF with an 8-10 average and a price point of $250.00 - $300.00 and got back over 80 with good websites.  Even sticking to the first two pages would give you enough choice.

lol...thank you for your wisdom...there are many very good providers out there with much more reasonable fees and with nice firm bods.

I guess the trick is not to get sucked into high price girls when there are one that keep it real.

Depends on the money situation of the individual, but he(rich dude) would still need to save because he's not safe from the current state of the economy.

I have a good situation but things have changed, so I have to find better reasonable options now. anyway, I will listen to you most holy wisdom.

we also attract the types of clients we were trying to avoid when we increased our rates.  

Screening is even more important with the rates being so low.  Hopefully, we won't start getting grief for that too.
