It used to be phone books, then classified ads in SF Chron, then Metro, a gap until my red book/sfredbook, eros, backpage, nightshift, privatedelights.  Others you remember or used? What are your go-to sites now?

A drive up to MBOT, warm up with lap dances in NYL, then trek over the hill to Santa Cruz and get a massage from a hippie chick at one of the many spas in Aptos or Capitola. Waterlace was my favorite, just the first unit in a simple business garage building (still there). Several women available. Hot tub in the middle with a couple of rooms, three shower stalls, a room upstairs, and a tiny space (probably was a closet) with room to lay down. Barbara was my ATF there and visited many times, often waiting for an opening with her, while listening to newcomer Ralph Barbieri on KNBR’s Sportsphone 68. Another favorite spot was Dimples, across the street from the Kmart on 41st, which is now a Home Depot. Tiny rooms and a pay phone on the wall. There was another house behind Capitola Mall and they were stocked with a stew and one who boasted of the best head in the west. Another spot was above a restaurant on Pacific, pretty quiet but lots of fun with a girl who told her family that she was waitressing. Lots of choices, those days in the paper and phone book. Wow, what fun and carefree days those were! The lap dances were $1 and the massages cost $40 for the house and $60 for French. Oh to be young and full of those wiggly guys aching to be free and shared with many of those out of the way hippie chicks! 1979-81

MBOT!  I remember some superstar porn actresses got their start there; Erica Boyer, Lisa Thatcher, Corinne Williams...  The Marin scene was outstanding with the old blue house and CeeCee's.

Berkeley had a pretty good selection back in the day (80s); Interlude on Shattuck was the best, Golden Gypsy had a cool line-up.

I went to one tiny upstairs spot katty corner to Ashby Bart (NW) and a Filipina had me grab an handful of her boob topped with a cherry nipple and told young me, now this is how you handle breasts!

SF Weekly adult classifieds were a great resource.  It was so easy when the providers would answer a telephone call.

What were those places like? They had lineups?
