While hardly an expert, most of the ladies that post in the SF AD board seem to promote Union Square and or near SFO.
Both seem to be great places.

I see some promote Silicon Valley as well but they do not get very specific as to a general area.

If you want to have fun stay in the union Square area, but not South of Market; make sure your hotel is not in the Tenderloin which is very close!
