You definitely want to spend a bit of time learning as much as you can.  Make sure you check out the Self Help Center and peruse through topics on the Newbie board (its under the TER General Boards tab).  Its a great resource and folks will share their perspective and experience with you.  

The more you know, the better for you and your potential clients.
