Recently, I got a ticket for running a "red light".

In addition, the car that I was driving is  registered in a different state, in which I still maintain my residence.

The 2 questions  I have are as follows:

1) What's the best way to beat the "red light" violation?

2)  I was asked to register my car here in California.   I want to maintain my registration of my car for the out-of-California state - as the car is seldom used here.   It's used in the other state.

Thanks for your insights!

Not sure whether or not the advise you offered up is meant to be sincere, or a joke.

If he kept on driving, there would be more than the red light violation...

Really ??!! If you speed away from a police officer you get in MORE trouble ?

And, my dear Lisa your point is?

I am sure you can string 2 sentences together to articulate your thoughts.

The guy is asking for help!  If you have something that would be useful - post it!

Sorry for not being more helpful but I racked my brain and can't find an answer.

Since this question doesn't have an answer the only answer is a "fun one or a joke".

Why not live it up once and a while with a little fun ?

I have an idea ... maybe this should be posted on the legal board and maybe he'll get more help over there.

Oops it's already on the legal board and still no none has an answer for him.

Thanks for calling me articulate, that is very nice of you.

kisses, xo Lisa

I believe the only thing you can do is find out what days the officer has off, which is public record, and then reschedule the court day for one of those days.  Most officers don't like to be in court on days they are not working.

If he shows then you will lose but if not the case should get dropped.

she was just trying to be funny and give the guy a silly answer to a silly question. no need to get all personal and call her names.

Sidenote to OP: try google if you want better results, instead of asking a traffic violation question in an escort review board. or at least post it in the legal board here

The last answer is a great one (sadly not my own) ... how does one go about attaining the policeman's public work schedule ?

Here's a link someone sent me.

Not sure if anyone has used this before. http://www.ticketassassin.com/whyfight.html

In the state of California, do you have to go twice to the Court for contesting your ticket? Once to file your plea, and then for the trial...

In Virginia, and some of the other states its one appearance - you make your plea, and the officer is right there.  If he isn't the charges are dismissed.

You can claim you tried to stop, but could not do so safely.

I was once caught by a red light camera on an ice day. When I came to court I told the judge I started to break, but then the car skidded a little. Therefore to gain control of the vehicle I had to press on the gas, turn into the skid, therefore running the red.

He couldn't argue as I brought a weather report from that day reporting icy roads, and there were no witnesses other than myself and the camera.

My driving record remains flawless to this day.

Hope this helps.

Vanica
