I've been hobbying for years and I'm finally thinking of crossing the border to see what it's like in TJ.  I've seen the Team Juanita and other sites and I can't seem to reconcile with the review.  It seems that the reviewers pay less than the stated rates on the sites.  Is that so?  Is is negotiable?  Sometimes it reads like there's an incall location vs. the hotel.  Who gets to choose?  Is the hotel in on the deal??

Also, is it as easy as they say.  Do I need a passport or is my DL okay?  Lot's of questions, but I'll feel a little more comfortable making the trip if I have a feel beforehand.

Thanks to all in advance.

Currently, to come back to the United States from Mexico, you just need a state-issued driver's license. Beginning on December 31, 2007, you will need a passport.

Since security has increased, it might take a while to get back across. On a Saturday afternoon, I had to wait three hours in line to walk back across the border into San Ysidro. I recommend looking at the CBP's website for wait times if you're driving your car.

Technically,,for the time being a DL is okay. Having said that however, a DL is not proof of citizenship.
I've heard of some people crossing back into the USA  being given 'tude by the BP/INS agent because they can't prove their citizenship.
I think it's next year that you'll need a passport to cross back into the USA from both Mexico and Canada.
