I am gonna stay on Shelter Island, and was wondering where I should eat and go to have fun? Any suggestions? I am 34 years old, so please don't suggest any hip hop bar..lol.
I am not seeing anyone this weekend, but if someone would be up for it for a later date email me
you can walk here: Humphrey's By The Bay, San Diego (619) 224-3577 09/07/2005 EVE SELIS BAND 9:30P - 1:30A $4.0000 starting at 8P 4:30p-6:30p Happy Hour featuring the "One Buck Buffet" 09/08/2005 Chiara Civello 9:30P - 11: ... www.humphreysbythebay.com/html/humphreys-featuredartists.cfm - 14k - Sep 7, 2005
Several places right on the island will serve you well. The Brigantine is a great place for dinner & drinks as is Humphry's. For lunch you need to visit Pt Loma Seafood. If you're feeling Mexican Miguel's will do and Old Venice is great for Italian. All of these places are within walking distance from anyplace on the island.
If your feeling metropolitan then its downtown to the Gaslamp district where you'll find a full array of restaurants, nightclubs in a 4-block raduius.
And if after a night of great dining and dancing you still find ourself wanting - call me as I make a great dessert.
Best Restaurant in San Diego ---: Arterra in the Del Mar Marriott. If you're into Haute Cuisine this be da plaze!! Chef Carl Schroeder has been featured in several international cooking magazines. Make sure to leave room for one of pastry chef James Foran's delectable delights.
Best Steak ---> Flemings. I prefer the one downtown on 4th and K to the one up in La Jolla.. The bone-in New York is better than most people's filet.
Best Italian ---> A tie for me. Either Arrivederci at 3845 4th Ave or Buon Appetito on India Street in Little Italy.
Best Breakfast --> Either the Cottage in on Fay in downtown La Jolla or Cantina Panederia on Feldspar near Cass in Pacific Beach.
As for Mexican --> Avoid the chains (On the Border, Acopulco, Rubio's etc....). I love unique style of border-mex served at pretty much any of the little corner mom and pop shops, but my all time fave is Rancho's on 30th near University. Really GREAT food and a very extensive vegetarian selection. Almost everything they make is available with either sauteed shitake mushrooms or tofu substituted for the meat. The only place in town that regularly offers mole poblano or nopalitos!
You for responding to my email today, I know when you get home you'll be busy, so get back to me when you can...I really appreciate it. Tell me about your trip and what you did..I will be there soon, can't wait to meet some new friends.
Thank you so much all of you who helped my finding the good restaurants on Shelter Island. And thank you all who called me.
Like I told some of the gentlemen I will be back soon to SD, probably the first of second week of October, and I hope to have my best friend Hannah with me. She is visiting from Sweden and I just felt the urge os showing her SD, and hopefully also meet some nice gentlemen at the same time. Maybe you guys want a double??
Anyway, if you are interested in seeing me, or both of us (I don't have a picture yet of her, but she is petite, and we have had TONS of fun in the past when I lived in Sweden), please send me an email or call me, and lets set something up.
