I have just recently moved to Escondido from Massachusetts and after I get a little more unpacked and probably after Tax season I'll be looking forward to making new friends in my new home.

I've been trolling this board a little bit and learning about the fine folk here. But I'm also unfamiliar with some local place names and/or abbreviations.

Especially, where is UTC in the San Diego area? Some very attractive ladies seem to be based there.

In exchange, for anyone traveling to the Boston area, I would be glad to explain the differences between the "North End" and the "North Shore" and why the "Back Bay" is really on land.

UTC stands for Uninversity Town Center, a shopping mall in La Jolla.  This is the area that would be on your right as you come south on 805 at Miramar.  There are a lot of condos in the UTC area so that may be where the ladies in the ads you saw live.
