In another great example of our tax dollars NOT at work, Visitorsfriend is harassing and stalking our dear Jenni on the Phoenix board.  I heard from Jenni today --, here is an excerpt from her communication

“He (visitorsfriend) is sending nasty messages signing off as me in PM's to Phoenix people, trying to act like I am stirring s_t and saying mean things about phoenix providers, etc.  This morning I woke up to an e-mail that reads like this...

I will make sure everyone in  Arizona finds out about you.  You may think that by relocating, you can 'leave it all behind', but it don't werk that way.

Welcome to AZ Jenni.  I can't wait till the fine residents of AZ know all about you and your evil ways.

I would do anything for Jenni, and I doubt I'm alone in that sentiment among San Diego hobbiests.  I’m going to do everything I can to expose VF on the Phoenix board, and I urge others to join with me.

I already got one of the PMs and promptly blocked any further messages. This is just not good.  We don't need this nonsense, nobody does.  How does a community go about banning a toxic poster?

As far as you suggesting I get banned from the boards, well, I think ; 1. I have a right to my opinion, after all it is a disccusion board and 2. my threads (like most everyones) have to be approved by the board moderator.

If you review my threads, you can see I'm not really doing anything wrong unless disagreeing with the almighty Jenni is forbidden.  I have always stated my opinion to topics.  The opinions may not align with concensus, but then again I never liked being part of the pack - that's for sheep.     So Madi, baaaaaaah.

Jenni needs to forward the messages to Staff along with an explanation.

Staff can track him down and delete his account.

the account for Visitorsfriend and remove him from TER. There is more than enough material in the thread history to show that he has violated the rules on the boards and within this community.

VF has been overdue for banning.  Why has it taken this long given his history of vitriolic pm's and "sage" advice to hobbiests alike?

i will have to say this is the best idea i've heard as yet on this board.  i try to keep optimistic so the second i see negativity creep into a post i usually move on but this for gods sake has been a headache for all and needs some addressing. so please girlnextdoor i second the motion

No one on this board should be pro-LE, but banning him just seems wrong.

I think not. This is a person who is apparently lying about someone in the community and trying to sabotage her business all while admitting that he, himself, is a member of Law Enforcement.

My assumption is that this person is not a cop at all, rather he is  either a she trying to sabotage Jenni's business in another state or he is a he whom Jenni had the good sense not to see and as such is lashing out at her and harassing other members of a private forum which directly violates the rules of this private website.

Fascist; I think not. It really boils down to enforcing the rules set forth by the owner/operator of this website. After all, if we allow one person to get away with breaking the rules continuously, what's to stop the rest of us from following suit and causing this board to run amok? Not a damn thing. So, it's really up to the owners of this board to determine whether or not they want to enforce their own rules. If they don't, there's little we can do. However, if they do, it'd be really nice considering that harassment is considered a crime, as is libel.

Did you not read the rules for posting when you signed up as a member of this board with this alias? Perhaps you ought to do so. Terms of Service exist for a reason, and I suspect they aren't here just because someone felt the need to write them without a purpose.

First, if VF is reading this post, don't bother me with your PM's. I don't care what you have to say-VF you are unimportant.

Next, the decision to ban a poster is not subject to voting or anything democratic, it's a decision made by Staff based upon their own reasons.Starting a thread about trying to get someone banned is a sure fire way to draw unwanted attention to yourself.

My post was quite explicit. If Jenni is getting harrassing emails (if ANYONE gets harrassing emails) on TER, forward them to Staff. As I said, Staff will take the appropriate action (which may NOT go the way you think).

People seem to forget, this is not a "public forum" in the town square tradition. This is NOT someplace that you can speak or act with impunity. TER is a private enterprise and all posters are subject to the restrictions and decisions of the owner.

So about the Fascism nonsense, this is not a government nor a free society-this is whatever the TER ownership wants. If you don't like it, start coding your own system.

1. When people make righteous statements about rules, they ought to be able to back them up with facts.
I was actually questioning this statement from HobbyAdvocate, but then you stepped in.

2. Isn't it a bit hypocritical to bring up rules and enforcement, when we are all breaking rules, viz "laws" of this country?  I happen to agree that the laws on this hobby are bad, but then to ride high and talk about enforcement when it suits us does not sit well with me.  Ironically, I agree that VF should be exposed, punished, banned, shunned or something.  But going about it in an "enforcement" and rules mode is what irks me.  Also your style of being the teacher/enforcer/controller pushes my buttons; but hey, I don't want you banned!  To be honest, I enjoy your articulate writing skills.

Stalking of Jenni is a tough problem, and I truly feel sorry for her.  Like I said, if you can show me the rule, I'd love to see it.

I'm not even concerned with what's mentioned in VF's thread posts, I don't care to read most of them.  I just thought sending the same bs private message out to many, many people was frowned upon. Especially if it contains hideous lies about providers you know or don't know.
