I recently had an excellent massage with a gal I've never seen before -- only one thing: She used vegetable oil for the massage (straight out of the Vons bottle), and now I smell like salad dressing.
I will see her again, and plan to bring my own massage oil next time. Any recommendations on something particularly good?
I like to make my own and get what I need from Henrys or Jimbos. Basic recipe is 6 teaspoons of a carrier oil to every 8 drops of essential or fragrance oil. I use Sesame because it does not stain sheets and add a few drops of jojoba oil, a few drops of lavendar oil, and a few drops of rosemary. Henrys also carries ready made massage oils and creams.
You see, I've found that 10w30 works the best for me. If you're an older model, possibly with some very high mileage and wear, you may prefer a 20w50. Stay away from certain brands that may contain carnuba wax, such as Pennzoil. One of the last things you want is big blob of oily waxey build up. Really, I prefer baby oil heated up in a lotion warmer generously applied to a velvety, hairless, freshly riding-crop-tenderized goddess. Delicious!
