Just thought I should share my Hanna experience, since so many have regarding her "no show" record. First, let me make it plain that I don't EVER use my real name with a provider. Anyway, I called her one morning and asked about seeing her. She said she had an errand to do but needed to check something and would call me right back. Not! Next day, I made the mistake of calling from my cell phone. A while later she called me back but we couldn't make an arrangement for that day. Several days later, I had a message from her on my cell phone. It was simply that my number was on her "calls received" record so she was returning my call if I wanted to see her. I couldn't do it then, so I didn't call. A few days later, another message from someone called "Sarah" who said the call was for "xxxx" (the name I originally used with Hanna) or for "xxxx" (my REAL name) and that she was calling for Hanna and worked with Hanna and that I should call back if I was interested in seeing either of them. Now, even my cell phone answering device does not give my REAL name, no name at all in fact. Just kinda scary that she somehow got my real name and red flags went up everywhere for me. Take it for what it's worth, as there have been some good reviews of Hanna. But I am a little too paranoid about this experience to have any interest at all now is seeing her.
This is a newbie question - but how do you not use your real name with a provider? Especially when they ask for ID info (name, work number, etc) during thier screening process.
I once emailed a provider and never got a reply. About a month later though, she called me at home at about 10:30 in the evening. Needless to say, I informed her that I wished for her to never call me again. What a freak.
cjsd has a good point. I am a newbie also. I upped to VIP and have been reading reviews and info extensively. Recently contacted a provider and furnished the requested info. Never thought that using a different name would be required, not with the information requested - wouldn't be possible. I can see being worried and hiding your identity with some providers - have to use some common sense. But The provider I contacted for a first experience has extensive reviews and appears to be very safe and experienced, so I feel safe. Is that a false safety, or do the better providers offer less worry along that line? This probably is more a line for the newbie board, but I'd be interested in hearing from some of the more savvy hobbiests out there. If you don't want to put it up on the open board - PM me.
That's easy for me. I never give that info out. I know I'm missing out on some ladies I'd really like to see (Jenni for example) but it's just the price both I and the provider have to pay. The y obviously wouldn't be willing to give me their personal info so I could check them out, why should I give them mine. I've been in the hobby many years and have a good reputation among those I have seen. So I realize the providers may be taking a chance with me, but I'm also taking a chance. If a provider wnated to, they could cause real havoc in my life with my personal info (e.g. my work number). Therefore it's just not worth it to me.
Any time you give a provider your personal information, such as your company name, work telephone number, home phone, etc., you are potentially opening up a Pandora's Box. You need to decide if the risks are worth it. Every provider who screens will say that she never keeps your personal information but how do you know? You don't. You have to trust them but why should you trust them? Why would you trust a woman who is knowingly providing an illegal service to tell you the truth? I know that sounds harsh but those are just the facts of life.
Your own personal circumstances will also play a role. If you are young, single, unattached, have no political or public career interests then you might be more willing to provide all your personal information than say, a middle aged, married, executive.
My personal belief is that no matter how young or old, rich or poor, married or single, I would never give out my work information, social security or drivers license number to a provider. If that means that I don't see certain providers then so be it. There are literally thousands of providers in Southern California who don't screen like that.
