The La Jolla Shores Hotel (formerly Sea Lodge) is right on the beach at La Jolla Shores.  You want what they call a "Beachfront" room.  $250 a night. www.sealodge.com

Try the Pacific Terraces in P.B.  Lots of bars nearby. Many within staggering distance.   If you got the big bucks, then stay at Tower 23!!  Lots of eye-candy and even a few pros there most Friday & Saturday nights.

Older, but oustanding location and expensive.

Pacific Beach is the Bomb, beautiful view and has just been renovated very classy place includes breafast and wine hour.....around $300 for a great room with a big double tub great decore and very romantic getaway
