I can see a provider asking for a deposit for the first time visitor, however these Gift Cards and Zelle transfer seem to be off base. Maybe it's just me being old school. Old School meaning cash is king
Next up is the ever popular habit of using someone else's photo, where a quick google photo search turns up the persons social media page. Seems to a trend amongst several pages which can lead to a scammer taking control with the hobbyist losing out on $$$ simple due to the smaller head thinking more than the bigger head. Reviews of San Diego and the providers in which living the general area seem to be going the way of the Kgirls nothing wrong with that, just saying. Risks are on both sides of the hobby, A few bad apples can truly spoil the hobby for those trying to get in and understand it fully, without it costing a arm and leg as a learning curve (being Scammed) The discussion board in general and local like San Diego, will barely cover the fine art of this hobby in which one can truly learn, enjoy and grow. It would seem that there should be a forum, where as those providers that are truly veterans can post lessons to ease the pain and suffering when one becomes taken advantage of simple due to a fantasy which we all know can become very powerful at times. I would like to hear and get a better understanding of all this and more, maybe it will help those that are coming into the hobby relax and learn more, maybe I'm way off base. Whatever it be, be safe and enjoy out there.. Thanks for reading and Thanks to those that respondWas it the grammer?
Is it the sink or swim attitude?
Seriously it’s that simple. I’ve been around for a long time & I consider myself old-school. I started requiring a deposit to book in 2010. As a single parent I can’t afford to leave the house without a deposit. I have never scammed anyone.
I don’t care about grammar. I care about mutual respect for each other’s time. This is supposed to be a fun hobby. Cash is no longer King 👑 because we have so many options Zelle, PayPal, cashapp, Venmo, etc…

I wonder how many times a lady loses business because of a deposit requirement? Been doing this for 15 years and never have, never will do a deposit.
Based on your reviews,it looks like you spend at least some time in the sensual massage world. Sure there are lots of fakes and lots of scammers on rubrankings and other sites, but there are plenty of reviewed providers as well. With a little experience it's not hard to find them.
Just search TER reviews for Massage, no to Escort, and yes to delivers as promised. Even without VIP access this will give you a decent starting point.
Most providers doing massage-only don't require a deposit or intrusive screening (real ID), just a reference or two and you should have those already.
Anyone asking to send a giftcard is probably a scam, especially if they ask at the last minute.
Learn to use reverse image search. It's not foolproof, but when an ad says "real pics guaranteed" and they're not, run away.
The fine art takes time to learn. You may need to read back a few years worth of posts here and on the general board to find the tidbits you seek. In the meantime, get VIP, read reviews, use the messaging feature to contact other reviewers, and DON"T pay a deposit or give your real ID.
This is what I needed, just a little boost that I am going in the right direction. I have read "THIS" forum for days, going back several years. As for VIP i have that.
Again, thanks for this and it does provide quality insight, using the reverse image on a search engine plays out well. I have absolutely zero issue $$$ wise and those that I have visited for Massage will co-sign that as I always tip very well.
Working 14plus hours a day in a career that eats most men, the massage is something that is looked forward to, of course the ending is always a relief to.
again, THANK YOU
I'm sometimes torn about whether to post a review from an experience where I essentially "felt scammed". I recently scheduled with a lady and paid a deposit because she was well reviewed by others where I had overlap with other ladies they reviewed and I generally concurred. So I felt it was "safe to proceed".
Long story short, I showed up to meet her and she looked *nothing* like her pics (and the 8/9 ratings, though that is of course *highly* subjective) and I had to leave --- on what I consider to be principle. I considered the deposit ($$) fair and is what I would have offered upon leaving.
I do believe she was sincere and I did not consider this to be an "intentional scam" and so I did not post a review. I chalked this up to my tastes differing drastically from others. Though I am not able to reconcile how others can rate her an 8/9 on looks the same as some other gals --- whom I know match their pics. Apparently, I'm the odd one ...
I am not sure why anyone here on TER would nor warn others.
TER ID: 355727
The lady in question is Lexa Haze. The last reviewer specifically mentions she looks just like her pics, but I strongly disagree. To top things off, she was an hour late. So I might have been extra annoyed. But to be honest, if someone that looks like her pics (on Tryst) showed up, I would have put that aside.
She was very apologetic and seemed sincere in honoring our appointment. I did not post a negative review because I wonder how picky I may be.
If I showed up and they didn't look close to their pictures I certainly wouldn't leave a deposit, in that case I felt she wasted my time and she owes me money (not that I'd ever get it). But walking away is right thing to do...too bad in your case you pre-paid so no options.
