It has crossed my mind, that I am really peeved when I get voicemail and not a real person.

With that in mind, I have a question for all you gents.  When you call the lady of your choice, how do you feel about getting voicemail?  I find myself constantly missing calls and I feel terrible because I know how much it bugs me to get the flipp'n voicemail!...

Would you rather speak to a secretary if I can't answer?

Personally, I don't mind voicemail and I'd rather not discuss our liason with a 3rd party.  The assumption is that you'll listen to it, and respond per the instructions left in the message.  I think that a lot of people who dislike mailboxes really dislike the feeling that you'll never hear back from the person you left the message for.

I'm not crazy about voicemail because obviously I'd rather talk to the lady directly rather than leave a message, but I'll leave a voicemail if necessary, and then I wonder if the lady will call back.

I hate voicemail.  If I don't get an answer I'll try a couple of more times and either move on or use an alternative contact method if she has one.
