I will be traveling to San Diego for a few days in the near future, but am not all that familiar with the area. I'd appreciate suggestions on what areas to stay in while I'm entertaining.
...among providers and clients, and the general consensus was Mission Valley, along Interstate 8 (but no farther east than Interstate 15). Pretty much right in the geographic center of San Diego, plus there are a wide variety of hotel types/rates to choose from.
I don't think Mission Valley is very convenient at all. I guess it all depends on where you are coming from and what time. MV is good if you are in the downtown area but if you work in the UTC area or Sorrento Valley area, it can be hell to get there after work.
