There are so many clues with this SHO being so heavily scripted, that it is difficult to start from one particular place of reference, so allow me to start from the obvious point of view: LEGALITY!!!
Firstly, the last time I had checked, prostitution was still illegal unless conducted in certain areas of Clark County in NV, where there are legalized brothels. Now note that I said prostitution and NOT escorting. The show Gigolos may wish to portray that these are male escorts in LV, catering to women who wish to engaged in paid companionship, blah, blah, blah... But as we all KNOW (or should know) anytime that $money$ exchanges hands ensued by feeling and touching of genitalia between the parties (sometimes the mere intent is good enough to get busted and exposure of touching is not even necessary per se) LE would wish to swoop on it like flies on sh*t! Admittedly, many have beaten prostitution charges by hiring highly expert and capable legal counsel and going down the gauntlet of a jury trail, before having their charges dismissed or being found "not guilty", but most often, people tend to take a plea bargain deal to spare the embarrassment and the co$t. My objective is not to take positions, to preach or to put the fear of anything into anyone, but just merely stating the obvious moronic laws governing the criminalization of this "hobby" So calling oneself an escort with the statement that any donation is merely for the time and companionship is NOT enough to beat the rap, even if your name is Showtime Gigolo!
Secondly, I recognized both of the two local lady providers on the show, so I knew that at least two of the ladies in the most recent episode were not truly civvies. Further, when the first episode aired, someone on TER's main GD started a thread stating that he had recognized the African American woman from the couple whose husband wanted "to get a male escort for the wife" This lady had certain tattoos which were immediately recognized as belonging to a well-review LV provider. Incidentally, the Mods on the GD board, removed that whole thread rather quickly!
Lastly, I personally find the show entertaining and enjoyable enough to watch. Yes, the characters are not exactly three dimensional and there is plenty of "douchiness" from at least two of the show characters, namely Nick & Brace" to make you laugh and gag (no pun intended) all the same! Also, how funny is it that they have a Vin Diesel look-alike, also called "Vin"? LOL! Therefore in summary, the show Gigolos is just a show that is "reality" based but it is not reality in actuality. If the show was real, the whole network would be in deep doo-doo with uncLE LEo. I bet my bottom dollar that SHO has much smarter lawyers and network executives than casinostocks
(who has not studied one single page of any law book in his life)
Well, maybe not, but I have to play the modesty and humility card in here
