Ouch!

I was up in the SLO several weeks ago on business.  did my research well in advanced and scheduled an appointment.  Upgraded my suite to one with a hottub for and additional $100.  bought a bottle of fine wine for $50.   triple confirmed.  She canceled 1 hour before.  All I could think of was all the fine ladies in San Diego who are not only beautiful but dependable.

oh wait - I forgot the $225 for a rental car - argh!

At least you did not loan $1200 to a top provider that you have seen several times before. I still have not digested this one... She was one of the top provider on TER, great reputation, seen her a few times and always had a blast. 2 weeks before I am supposed to see her, she asked me for an advance to pay for some plane ticket, offering me what seemed to be an incredible deal so I went for it. After all, I thought she could be trusted since she had nothing but stellar reviews ( pages of it ). Well, it is been a year. I have not seen any money back, she canceled her trip at the last minute and never came to SD.  She told me a few time she was going to pay me back  ( I will pay you in a few days etc etc ), replied my  emails but I have not seen a penny since and doubt I ever will.
Lesson learned. Never again. Not blaming anyone but myself for this one but I can relate to what happened to you.. it does suck, especially since I can't necessary afford that loss and had to make payments to pay that credit card back.

Trust me, your not the only one... Sometimes it is the nature of this game.
