Ladies and gents......just what does 'Petite' mean?

I've seen 2 ladies of vastly different proportions and both advertised they were 'Petite'....one was a shade over 5' tall and weighed 145#...thick... and the other lady was 5'10" and 135 and rail thin and assured me she was 'petite'.  So how can they both be 'Petite'? Any help?

Petite means short and thin. The 5 foot 10 girl doesn't know what she's saying...She is just "rail thin", not petite.

Like 5 foot 6 would be the cutoff I'd say.

PETITE: (of a woman) short and having a small, trim figure.

Honestly, I don't think either falls under petite.
It may be perspective. In modeling or women sizing. Petite is typically someone that is shorter, 4-5'ish and fits into a size 0-2.

The first you mentioned would be more under shorter with some baby fat or thick, as you said.
The second is def. not petite. At 5'10" that is more model or athletic type.

Just my 2 cents...
