No offense but compared to the Minnesota board this place is dead!  Kudos to Arden Moon for her effort at involving people in discussions with some success. Do any reviewers actually read this board?  Lets have a show of hands. Or not.

I totally agree & enjoy Arden's posts.  Other boards are much more exciting!

Yes, me, definitely!

Yes this board along with many others seems monotonous one day and brilliant the next, but all in all the San Diego community is full of extraordinary women and fabulous men.  If we want to spice the board up it is up to each one of us individually to put forth the effort to come up with information worthy of interest.

This USED to be a happening place, but definitely been a while since there's been anything going on.

I agree, I think that this is a good "community" (and I have been an active part of it for almost eight years now)...God knows I have met some wonderful people here.

However, in a way, he is right...there often is not much real interaction here compared to the way it used to be. Take a look at the current front page of the board, and then take a look at this page from late 2003...

you will notice almost every thread on the page from 2003 has multiple responses to it. This weeks' activity is actually not bad...there have been weeks around here lately where you will be lucky to find five threads out of the 20 on the page that have multiple replies to it. So, in reality, he is right when he says that this isn't the most active board.

However, the bottom line is that you are right in saying that it is up to all of us to be more involved, and I am not sure I see that happening without someone (or a group of people) being an "active" leader here...whether it is the moderator or whether it is someone else, as the environment has changed since 2003. Back then, this was a new thing, and many of the people on the board were active in the social aspects of it (whether on the local board or the general discussion...National... board). That started to change by about 2006-2007, and it is hard for me to see it returning to it's past activity level without there being an active effort to make it happen.

As I have said many times on here, this is our community, and it's up to us what we make of it. I myself would love to see more involvement by people, but Belle is right...it will only happen if many people contribute to that happening.

WOW -- did THAT bring back the memories! Suzanne (my first hobbyist experience -- and it was one that absolutely blew my mind!), AnnaGFE, Sedona, Ginger, Elise -- those WERE the days on our local TER board!

Rock and Roll!

I moved about 5 years ago, and was super busy and lost touch here.   I recently returned, and have thought the same.  I was wondering if this happened about the time the Provider Only/Hobbyist Only contributed to the demise of the action that used to be.

I have wanted to bring this up, but really don't know the climate here anymore, but really, REALLY miss it!  Used to have tons of girlfriends here, we would get together and this was before the M&G's, but it is dismally sad!  

I haven't even posted availability here really because it just seems like a barren "please call me" place.   This is not to say anything wrong with the ladies posting  their specials and availability, but it IS a DISCUSSION board!  And YES, Arden has been super cool.  Now that I am a little settled, (in a temporary place until I find a good, suitable place, anybody have info on good spots/deals let me know), I pledge to lend a hand to her, and a couple others who really try.

I have been a little reluctant as some of the older members might remember I really don't care to spar with ole visitorsfriend, but what the hell.  He brought me ALOT of attention!  He he....

But thanks for bringing that up!  On the provider's board, there is all kinds of stuff going, lots of information sharing, and most of it used to occur on the front boards.

Soooo, guess I'll think of a cool topic and bring it up on Monday when there are more people browsing here!

Your right!  There was always someone trying to get discounts....  didn't work much then tho, that was when all of the money that is caving in now was flying around all over the place!  Lol!

It's a trivial observation, but each page, 2003 and now, has a monger asking for a discount on his Birthday.  

So that's one common thread.

I have to agree, Arden, you bring life to the board, and Mdm Patricia always has positive input.  You guys don't know me, I read, yawn, and never post because it really isn't that lively overall.  I wish it was, as I am a shadow hobbiest, have been for years with some really fun and funny experiences.  I'd love to discuss the sport, the players, and the plays with others who are interested and informed.  Anyway, I am glad the topic came up, hope it spurs some interest.

When you have San Diegans saying "if you touch my junk, I'll have you arrested", you can't expect much of a party.

Now that is funny!
