well the ISO board was banished shortly after the US ad boards disappeared, and for a time any thread that sounded like an ISO for specific services was quickly removed.
there's an echo here? Where did all the good denizens of SD go?
Really this and other local boards were in serious decline before SESTA.
As for me, it's not much effort to log on and see what might be new, whether it's here in SD or any other market within ~350 miles.
The bigger question is WHY. Apparently most providers (assuming they understand they are only a VPN connection away) feel no ad space means not worth the effort, and while clients complained about the accuracy of reviews, the ads and reviews were the driving reason to check in. Apparently having mundane conversations with strangers isn't enough. Personally,I feel like Richard Gere in "An Officer and a Gentleman"...

There was a time many years and another username ahoy, when I was in the discussion board almost daily. Great place to discuss current events, the hobby and argue over many mundane topics. Definitely doesn’t look the same. I left the hobby for a few years and decided to give it another shot. Definitely not better the second time around.
I have to admit I didn't contribute enough back when the forums were active. I mostly used TER for reviews and didn't even notice there were forums until recently. I didn't post enough reviews either to consistently maintain VIP status, so being part of a community here didn't really come to mind.
Now I realize what I was missing, as there's no reviews now and I didn't make any connections with other mongers or providers. I mostly partake of the Asian apartment providers, but wish I'd made contact with more variety of providers previously!
Still hoping something changes with the laws, but it is looking grim.

This place is essentially a ghost town. I do wonder if it'll ever be back though. At this point, they could probably bring reviews and profiles back and no one would notice.

I'm very sad about the decline... SD used to be a great place to find "fun" with a lot of nice ladies. Now not so much...
I will be in San Diego in mid/late August so if there are any ladies willing to show me a good coffee shop let me know.

For a coffee shop. He's looking for a lady who can "show" him a coffee shop. I think that means he's looking for an OTC date for coffee with someone he has never met. The chances of that happening here are somewhere between zero and none. He should book three or four hours with someone, and then she might go have coffee with him OTC afterward. Many ladies I know would, but I haven't run across a single one that would go to coffee OTC FIRST with a new customer. He's going to be viewed as a time-waster, so you saying he's not going to get much love here was about as gentle as you could put it. Lol
I'd suggest that he try asking Alexa, but she might hunt me down and give me a black eye. LOL
Actually, I think he's just looking for any response by any local provide that might still be checking this board. For a while,anything resembling an ISO was getting yanked.

I have noticed basic "looking for companionship" threads popping up, particularly on the LV board. On most other boards, it would be like a tree falling in a forest with no one to hear...
I was just trying to get some advice from the locals - be they hobbyists or any of the local ladies.
With the changes in TER it was of no value to keep my VIP status. The value was in the reviews. PM was a nice to have but not worth the price.
Coffee? I love it but can find coffee shops with google.
OTC time lol? Never.
I do still belong to P411 and have lots of references.
I will be checking the “other” sites to plan my visit next week.

I'm more of a nespresso fan if we're talking pod coffee.
Also if you're ok with bulk, there's a ton of greymarket pods on ebay for like half off. I'll pay good money for warm company, but I draw the line at coffee that's just "ok".
