Chrome is a very fast/clean browser (I assume you meant browser instead of OS).
I use it all the time.

I've been using Google Chrome as my primary web browser for more than a year and I love it. Before that I had used Firefox for a few years. I long ago dumped Microsoft Explorer. I have lots of google accounts (email, voice, profile, etc.) and Chrome plays well with them. Plus (at least when I first switched) it is faster than Explorer and Firefox and crashes less.

Doesn't hurt to give it a try -- you can always dump it if you don't like it.

I use google chrome web browser as a secondary browser every day, primarily still use Firefox a majority of the time but chrome is very clean, fast and streamlined and works well.

As far as the Google chrome OS, that is the plan for the next wave of "netbooks" or "tablets" type slow low end wannabe laptop computers. Its a linux based OS that only runs web-based apps, the near future of "Cloud" based computing will utilize these where it runs the applications on the servers on the internet, and only outputs the user whats needed to there little netbook. So basically all memory and cpu and most resources are offloaded to the "cloud" servers and not at all run on the netbook.

Lots of problems with this for most computer users, but its simplicity and ability to use really dirt cheap hardware will find a market in the near future just as ipad's have right now.

Go ahead and install google chrome web browser, and use it as a extra browser from time to time, it works really well IMO, but forget about the google chrome OS completely --it will come loaded on certain hardware made for it soon.

Hope you're having a fabulous day!

I was wondering iif any has been using Google Chrome as their OS?
I've heard it's much faster than explorer, but afraid to make the switch.

...little quirks, and takes some getting used to.  But, it's pretty solid, and no doubt more solid than IE.  Although, IE 9 is not "too" bad, just pretty much a pig, where local (PC) resources are concerned.

And, even if you installed Chrome, you can always get rid of it to try something else.

Go for it!  Especially since there's really no harm in trying it...don't hesitate to ask any of us if you need help!

Don't think of there being any kind of switch over, which means dropping one so you can use the other.

You can have any number of browsers on your machine and use whatever suits your fancy, like changing outfits,  whenever you like. They don't interfere with each other and you don't have to un-do anything to install a new one. You can try out any new browser without leaving your old one.

One of the previous responders pointed out that he used two browser and switches back and forth all the time. In my work I test how web pages look on various browsers so I often have four or more open at once to the same webpage so I can see if there are any compatibility issues.

In fact, If your internet explorer is very recent, the Microsoft bastards have made it next to impossible to uninstall it without messing up Windows 7, so just leave it there.

Install chrome, Firefox, whatever you want to try. The only thing that is a "decision" is choosing which one is the "default" browser, and all that means is that, if I send you an email with a web-link and you click on it, which browser do you want to have open up automatically in response.

You can always change this setting, and setting it up is part of the install process. The browser installer will ask if you want to make your new Chrome/firefox/whatever, the default browser and you decide yes or no.

It's easer to erase your browsing history.

You can duplicate tabs much easier, in case you want to explore two parts of one site at the same time.

Easier to set favorites as well. And I think it's faster than Explorer.

On the issue of using more than one browser:

I have both IE and Firefox.  Both have had problems and disadvantages....
Here is what I do.

I open both and use each one to log on to two different Yahoo email accounts.
That way I can look at both inboxes at the same time.

Think I'll download chrome given the recommendations.

It is faster than IE, and crashes less. But, keep IE on your computer because some websites just don't work right with Chrome.

Tweak ... I am very interested in this plugin.  Have you made any progress on it?  Is there anyway I could get a test version of it?   PM if you have something to share.
