If you want some place central and convenient for your guests, I think Hotel Circle in Mission Valley is a good choice.  Lots of hotel options and close to a couple of malls.  Parking would be convenient for your guest than say, downtown.

Another place to consider is Shelter Island since it's close to the water and there's probably stuff for you to do.  Parking may be tricky for the guest but since it is off-season, there maybe plenty of street parking (I saw a provider one of the hotels).

I am curious, is there a certain area in San Diego that is best to stay if I am planning to come and work for a few days?  General areas will help.  I am open to suggestions for great hotels/resorts, however PLEASE DO NOT TYPE NAMES OF HOTELS IN YOUR RESPONSE, and instead email me with specific suggestions of provider-friendly hotels.

If you stay around Carlsbad or south before La Jolla - near the 5 fwy you can pick up Orange county customers because it is easy to come and go.  Rates should be around 300 to 400 if you have great reviews.  Just my thoughts.

Review quality doesn't dictate rate. Menu and service do as well as looks.


To the posters question: Mission Valley is central but a little bit in the KE spotlight. UTC is also pretty central and has many hotel options.
