Just got back from San Diego and had a great time at the many museums at Balboa Park. Being a guy my favorite was the Air and Space Museum, but they have a great Museum of Man as well as Natural History, Art and a Science Center in the park as well others. It is also one of my favorite parks in the country.Don't miss out on a harbor cruise and the gaslamp district downtown has some great clubs and restaurants, try Croce's owned by the wife of the late Jim Croce.

Being a border town with Mexico, SD has a lot of Spanish influence with regard to culture.  We have the famous SD Zoo at Balboa Park.  In addition, we have several museums to visit and stroll through in Balboa Park.  Old Town San Diego is another venue to add to your sightseeing list.  SD is also minutes away from Tijuana, Mexico.  The most visited city in the world.  (I read that bit of trivia in a magazine)  November is a good time to visit SD,,,,,, so you soon!

Hi Mya,

Balboa Park has art galleries which match anywhere in the world; Museum of Flight is ok but more for pilots like me; the Zoo is incomparable, always different.
The harbour has the Star of India, a real still sailing square rig ship.

For food: Bobs on the Bay at Chula Vista Marina; Anthony's at the harbour.

Evening dining on pleasure cruises around the bay, expensive but very nice when the weather is warm.

San Diego? You know why everybody wants to live here!

I'm forgetting my English manners - I'll show you around if you would like to and you're there this coming Thursday through Sunday.

Not sure what kind of "other" types of activities you are searching for but the attached link should help.  There are 44 museums that come up when you click follow the link to museums.  There are numerous production houses that always have plays going on.  There are places to go to like Old Town, Julian, Quail Botanical Gardens.....and so on that aren't your typical Zoo or Sea World type of attraction.

As Mike mentioned, tons of museums.  Old town is also a great place to go.  I know when I have friends visit I always take them strolling through Old Town and a nice walk through SeaPort Village is always fun.  There are the beaches, plus Coronado, you would love to walk around in the Hotel Del Cononado, maybe have some dinner out back looking out over the ocean.  The Silver strand is fun for biking, jogging, rollerblading, of course so is the downtown waterfront (Harbor Drive)  Every visit should include a trip to the Gaslamp district.  For shopping there is Fashion Valley or Horton Plaza.  Plus you have the casinos around also.  For more upscale entertainment visit the restaurants and social scenes in Del Mar and La Jolla.  Ton's to do and see.  There is also a great place downtown where beautiful people meet for food and drinks - the W hotel and the beach bar on the roof.  Always fun times there.  Let me know if you need a tour guide.  All this, and I don't even live there, but I do LOVE San Diego.  See you soon.  ENJOY.

but the real one in the valley in mission valley.. lots of shopping all around there, too.

I have a thing for missions since taking an archaeology class in college with a real California Arch freak.  We even spent the night in a mission and did a "dig".

Never have I before or since had so much dirt up my nose!

I don't know if I like the outdoor elements or the indoor elements more... HMMMM

I know I'm not the only female/non-pilot that loves planes... forget the yaw and pitch.. let's do some dives and rolls!!

Good call on Balboa Park... Definitely a treasure!

I have had sex out at the Presidio a number of times in the past(in a car in the parking lot in front of it, out in the park next to it and even at the building area itself at night), but I have never considered the actual Mission. But since it is the Mission, do we only get to do it in the missionary position??
