Just wanted to thank those of you who spoke-up & gave me advice on how to handle that sticky situation with "DEWFUNT"...
Now, I noticed that some of you sensed that my concern might have been MORE about the CRUEL things he said & well ... I've gotta tell ya ... Althought they DID bother me, it was the MISLEADING things he said about what I allegedly DID that upset me more!! : (
I suppose that's because I felt as if he were attacking MY CHARACTER, ya know??
Anyhow, as far as the OTHER comments are concerned ... I never claimed to have a PERFECT Body!! And besides, we ALL have our "trouble spots", right?? But to make a statement such as HIS, well ...
He might as well have called me a "Beached Whale" or suggesed that he "Bag My Face" ... Geez ... What an Asshole!! : (
And that comment about MY "Charging Something to His Room WITHOUT Permission" (not trying to quote him) ... THAT is what I would like to address here.
And ONLY because I feel I DESERVE the opportunity to DEFEND MY CHARACTER ...
I want to be clear here ... This is NOT because I am looking to stir-up a bunch of DRAMA or because I want to Vindictively Trash HIS Name ... Quite the Contrary ... I am Simply Taking the Opportunity to Set Things Straight, that's all!
So, for those of you who don't mind listening, here's MY version of what happened ...
I had agreed to come see him at a Hotel in North County. As you might imagine, not only did I run into some NASTY TRAFfIC on the way up, but I almost got into an accident! as well So, needledd to say, by the time I got to his room, my nerves were MORE than a bit frazzled (Yikes!)
So, after introducing myself, I surveyed the room & aksed if he had a mini-bar. He stated that HE DID, but that HE did not "NEED" a drink. Alright, no biggie ...
So I told him that I'd like to head down to the bar in the lobby to grab a cocktail & that I'd be right back.
"Well," he said, "If you're gonna go down to the bar, I suppose I COULD have a glass of wine. I had this glass of RED last night at dinner that was really good. Let's see, what was the name ..." He then proceeded to tell me the name of the wine & handed me a $20 dollar bill. (which I THOUGHT was MORE than enough)
This is where the misunderstanding began ...
When I went to order his glass of wine I noticed that it ALONE cost $17 ... Well, I told the bartender that I hadn't brought enough cash with me & that I needed to head back up to the room & I'd be right back. I mean, after all, that would have left me with ONLY $3 and I had yet to get anything for MYSELF, not to mention the TIP for the Bartender, right?!? : (
So, as I turned to go, the bartender said, "Why don't you just CHARGE the drinks to the ROOM & save yourself the headache of going ALL the way up to your room & back down again?"
I have to say, at the time it SOUNDED like a totally REASONABLE suggestion, so I went ahead & signed for the drinks. ( including a modest tip) Of course, I had NO IDEA as to the problems this decision would cause!
I mean, when YOU ALL read that review, did YOU think that I had been deceptive / dishonest?? 'Cause, to ME, what I read made me out to look like I had practically STOLEN from him or something, ya know?? : (
And, on top of that, he implied that I was SO "IN NEED OF" these drinks and GEEZ ... I Only Had 2 Drinks .... And THAT's a FAR CRY from an ALCOHOLIC! Wouldn't You Agree??
Now, SOME of you may feel that I have OVER-reacted & perhaps I HAVE ... I suppose I'm just a little EXTRA-Sensitive to statements such as these ... After all, I PRIDE myself in the fact that I AM TRUSTWORTHY!!
MANY times I have been in situations where there was PLENTY of cash / valuables around & I have NEVER Stolen from ANYONE ... ESPECIALLY NOT from ANY of the Gentlemen I Have Met HERE on TER ... I Am Simply Not THAT Type of Person!! And I am OFFENDED that HE would IMPLY anything OTHERWISE!! : (
Anyhow, that's about the jist of it. Geez ... Talk about SHORT story LONG ... Whoops! : 0
