Well I recently came down with HPV. I have only seen high end ladies with great reviews so just want to tell people to be careful. I hope everyone who is eligible is getting the guardasil vaccine. As for me I am out of commission obviously.

To bad you are hidding who you are.  I think all should be aware of what is being sread around.  I know 1 hobbist came out a few months ago stating he got herpes from a provider.

Anyone can have a STD just because she is high end, or has great reviews does not make you safe from diseases.  Sorry, but no one should be providing services when they have an outbreak.  Statistics say 1 in 4, so just think of how many providers must be infected........

I get tested more than I should & knock on wood no STD's here, but I am always safe! (covered)

You should at least contact all of the providers you seen in the last yr. and let them know so they can be tested and or get the guardasil vaccine. Short of that, it would be nice to be able to look at your reviews so that we can choose whether to avoid these ladies or not. This is very serious as you can atest too.

Hi Arden
I respectfully disagree. Guardasil protects against the two most common forms of HPV that cause warts.
GARDASIL is the only human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of HPV. In girls and young women ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 2 types of HPV that cause about 75% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. In boys and young men ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 90% of genital warts cases.

GARDASIL also helps protect girls and young women ages 9 to 26 against 70% of vaginal cancer cases and up to 50% of vulvar cancer cases.

It seems like anyone in this hobby or a provider should have this vaccine. An absolute must if they are in the right age group

I haven't contacted anyone yet as I just learned about this on Friday. I will contact all the providers I've seen. I'm not sure if I'll go all the way back a year.  As for letting you look at my reviews. No I won't let you do that. As Arden said it is very difficult to trace this back. I would hate to wrongly accuse someone of this and hurt their livelihood.

HPV can have an outbreak on the cervix.
there is a possibility of no visible symptom during an outbreak unless you are checking your provider with a speculum. it is also possible to contract HPV with a condom if there is an outbreak on the pelvis or thighs.

my rule of thumb it to keep genitals away from each other.

the only sure fire safe thing is COMPLETE abstinence.
but thats no fun.

GARDASIL may not fully protect everyone, nor will it protect against diseases caused by other HPV types or against diseases not caused by HPV. GARDASIL does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so it’s important for women to continue routine cervical cancer screenings. GARDASIL does not treat cancer or genital warts. GARDASIL is given as 3 injections over 6 months."

This may belong better on the newbie board but a question I've had for some time is the "etiquette" surrounding the disclosure if someone has a STD?

As a provider, does one give a client full disclosure of any current issues or simply not provide if one has a current issue?  Is it wrong as a client to ask a provider about their current health?  I realize that some symptoms may not appear for some time of course. in doing research on potential providers, I've noticed very few (actually only one) talk about being and remaining healthy.

As a client, should one disclose this to the provider?  I can't see that working since I assume (perhaps wrongly) the provider might simply leave.

I would of course agree that it is in everyone's best interest to remain covered at all times in order to reduce the chances regardless.  Play safe for all involved!

In the interests of full disclosure, thankfully I am in the category that has never had an STD. As much as I would hate to contract one, I would not want to pass one on as well.

It's obviously a complicated matter and again I urge all involved to be as safe as possible.

...it is one that is very much appreciated, even though it goes without being said.  I can imagine, it's a difficult decision and conviction, given the opposing opinions, which would probably dictate the thought of an obligation to protect other hobbyists or even providers.  A bit of a conundrum, but definitely classy, just the same.

Hope it all works out for you, and those who have been affected.

Yes there are over 40 different strains of HPV and more and more keep getting discovered. What is even more sad is that men don't care any more or are just saying that they play safe when they have disease.

I know someone who has herpes and doesn't think he can spread it by kissing or having skin to skin contact, or massaging.. People are so uninformed its ridicioulous. Please Get tested and talk to your partners. Its very serious! We are all at risk because one partner or another doesnt just show up with a STD, they got it FROM SOMEONE ELSE..

Please be informed!!

not hard to spread if the outbreak is on the THIGHS or PELVIS.

you FS ladies need to educate urselves.
if u knew what i knew, your menu would be reduced to mine. ;)

please see your doctor.

get the shots. you can be over 26 and still get the shots (bout 100 bux a shot) and u increase your defense against cirvical cancer as well as several strains of HPV. there is NO EXCUSE for any lady posting here to NOT get the vaccine except idiocy *please excuse my blunt-ness but safety is NO JOKE*.

You did not mention that you are always safe, and must have acquired this orally.

If that is not the case, and you went full bb with a provider, regardless if they were high end or low end with great reviews or bad reviews, then your short a few brain cells of being retarded.  Did you really expect to play with fire and not get burned, honestly if this is the case your lucky if HPV is the only thing you got, give it a full year to dwell on and retest before your convinced you didn't pickup something more serious. Be safe everyone, this stuff is no joke for everyone.

I recommend the jap blue ones, crown (pink in color), and play forever!

You are getting kind of worked up based on an assumption. I didn't practice FS BB. You are also incorrect in assuming a condom will protect you from this infection. This infection is spread by skin to skin contact. Does a condom cover the base of your penis or your testicles or your inner thigh? Yeah maybe I got it from oral or maybe I got from my partner grinding down-who knows. But you don't need to have unprotected FS to get gentital warts. I guess we could practice sex like in the Woody Allen movie where people wear full body condoms but I don't think that would be much fun. It may surprise you to learn that a new study just came out that says 50% of men are infected with HPV.  http://www.whec.com/news/stories/s1995963.shtml

OK, my bad, really just glad to hear you were safe and not stupid with full bb in a high risk situation with a professional where you could have picked up something much worse.

I do know how common HPV is, and yes many men are infected. I know of too many people in PB who have the herp. The reason I got "worked up" as you said, is from the loss of my family member to hiv.  SO yes I'm a little sensitive to these things, wasn't trying to be mean or anything at all. If I was slipping I would want a friend to kick my ass, so my comments were just along those lines, trying to say wake up and smell the coffee and be safe.

Sorry again to hear your dealing with this.

How do Men get HPV?
HPV is passed on through genital contact—most often during vaginal and anal sex. HPV may also be passed on during oral sex. Since HPV usually causes no symptoms, most men and women can get HPV—and pass it on—without realizing it. People can have HPV even if years have passed since they had sex. Even men with only one lifetime sex partner can get HPV.

How Do Men Contract HPV?
HPV is spread through skin-to-skin contact. Men get genital HPV through genital-to-genital contact, primarily during vaginal and anal intercourse. It might also be possible to acquire it during oral sex, although this is thought to be rare.
