cruising through eros earlier today i noticed many fine visitors planning to make their stop here in san diego. unfortunately, trying several different methods i couldn't come up with any information for them. especially for ashley with the 936 area code. it seems a women this beautiful would have a web site or reviews somewhere. is it me or does something seem amiss here? way to many gorgeous visitors with no information.

Eros does have some beautiful women posting their services with no supplementary info. The stock photos are easy to pick out as any of us who have been around for a few years are able to discard these from our want pile. One of my pet peeves in the hobby are providers with old photos which need to be updated.

Is the paranoia easing just a little bit?

Well, it's an interesting thought that these adds are 'sting-related'.

There's an opening scene in the great Al Pacino movie "Sea of Love", in which the NY police department is running a sting to round-up a number of criminals. The bait for the sting is that they've won a complementary breakfast to meet with the NY Yankees, and about 50 felons with wants and warrants are calmly rounded up.

Obviously, this must be the benchmark for what SD LE would like to do to both the providers and hobbyists who frequent this board. From their perspective, not only are we all violating the law, but also flouting our transgressions by discussing them openly on TER. Combine this with the fact that most active hobbyists earn salaries considerably higher than those in law enforcement, and one can easily see why LE are desperate to convict us "perps".

I would take a somewhat different view. Eric Schlosser has an interesting new book ("Reefer Madness: Sex Drugs and Cheap Labor in the American Black Market"), which argues that the hidden economy is an important contributor to the gross national product. I think that we hobbyists are simply doing our bit to prime the pump (as it were) of an otherwise lousy economy. If you want to stimulate the economy, put money in the hands  of those (i.e., providers) who will be immediately buying goods and services. Viewed in this way, one could argue that patronizing providers is a patriotic act, which will stave off another recession.

Please remember that when these "roud-ups" are performed, they are targeting individuals that currently have warrants. I would not worry about it.

I wish I could agree with you that only those with outstanding warrants will be targeted in sting operations, but the evidence in S.D. suggests otherwise.

Already there are a number of faux San Diego "providers" who advertise on commercial and personal websites, that are nothing but LE fronts. Relatively large numbers of hobbyists have been caught up in these sting operations, which are still on-going.

I'm sorry, I should have made myself clearer on that. I meant that style of sting. The type, when they call or send mail saying that they have won something. When all of these criminals with warrants get together, the cops close the doors and start the paper work. Yes, you are correct that providers and hobbyists are targets of stings, but a different kind.
   First off, if you, myself and half the other hobbyists were to suddenly win a big screen TV and we all got together to pick them up, what would they bust us for? To the best of my knowledge, most of us have done nothing more that write fictional accounts of something that may or may not have happened. There is no way to verify it. A misdemeanor needs to be witnessed by the arresting officer for him/her to make a case. Or, someone else, who did witness the act, would need to make a citizens arrest. I'm not 100%, but I am pretty sure about that.

The recent arrests of hobbyists was done on a retail, one-by-one basis, in which the poor fellows were lured to sting locations by enticing web-escort sites and pictures.

In each instance, the hobbyist solicited an act of prostitution before an arrest was made - or at least, theoretically, that's the way it should have gone down. This is just the flip side of what has been done in the past to escorts (see "Cops in Las Vegas" for the Candid Camera episode).

I was using the Al Pacino-"Sea of Love" sting as sort of the gold-standard to which S.D. LE would like to aspire. As it is, I'm pretty sure that more than 50 hobbyists were popped in the above recent sting, which is plenty bad enough.

The direct info that I have on this is from a hobbyist who was caught up in the sting. Although the stings may now be more or less active, the faux escort advertisements (both on private and commercial websites) are still around.

I think it has been discussed at some length on this board. Probably you can find the relevant threads with keywords in the message section like "sting", "arrest", "law enforcement" etc.

Probably the best advice to avoid these stings is to go with well-reviewed providers by hobbyists with long-standing TER credentials.

Either you are very new to this hobby or very misinformed.  NaughtyEscort.com's reputation stands on it's own.  Ask any of the reviewed providers that advertise there and they will let you know.  

It's a very tight operation and being able to advertise there requires a hell of a lot screening on my part.  You'll never find LE there or stock photos.

Simply put, ads don't go up because you have money.  The ads are free if you pass the qualifications.

My advice is for you to go see her (Ekko) so "you could get your first review"

Good to hear but, you have no clue of what you are saying. There is more than you know. Enough to be leary about. And, that is from first hand experience. No way! I would never risk it.
