OK - I see an ad for a pro vider that is visiting our fair city from Arizona.  She looks pretty good (nose is a little big, but who looks at the nose), so I contact her via email to set everything up.  She asks for references.  I provide them.

She asks for other info ... I PROVIDE IT.  I mention the suggested date and time and SHE IS OK with it.

3 days before, I email to confirm.  She says - OH so SORRY ... I don't APPROVE of the PROVIDER you gave me as a reference.  WTF?  

It's bad enough to have to provide references, but this is going too far! I dont want to start WWIII so I won't mention the travelling provider or who she wont except references from.  All I can say is who looks like friends on this board AINT REALLY TRUE  Adios Amigas.

Let me start by saying I come over to visit from Arizona a lot and it certainly isn't me who isn't taking the reference Maybe if you ask the lady she will explain it to you. There is no reason to not take a reference from anyone unless the reference is not known at all and there is a question of her being LE. It also sounds like she might not have been interested in seeing you and that was her excuse. Did you do something to offend her or turn her off?

Maybe she called for your reference and she was given negative information. Or maybe you were previously trashing her on another thread and she realized who you were and she decided not to see you. Any one who reads these boards on a regular basis knows exactly who you are talking about. So please cut the crap about not wanting to start WWIII. My personal opinion is you are just trying to stir up crap.

I had someone with the same dillema. I'm sure he was probably legit, but I was not willing to take the chance. He had a reference who had only one review and it was written by him. Made me a little nervous.

I try very hard to accomodate everyone, and when I'm at home, this is much easier to do with a work reference because I'm well aware of most of the employers in my area. However, in San Diego, I'm away from home, out of my element and LE has been known to set up fake companies with websites, etc.

I also had one guy tell me he was a defense contractor. I was a defense contractor for three years, so I asked him a very specific question and he didn't answer it properly, so I know he was not a defense contractor.

Ladies, be careful is the bottom line. Gents, you need to understand that it is imperative for us to be safe. Believe me, we want to see you, we want to make the money, we want to entertain you, but we do not want to wind up in those less than fashionable bracelets, nor do we want to sit in a cell and wait for the two thousand dollars it'll take to bail us out which we won't have when LE raids the room, takes our computer and any money in the room which they'll perceive as being made illegally even if it isn't.

Anyhow.....that's all from me. Except I'm going to request that you people quit attacking Mya's nose or other body parts. I don't have friends in this business specifically because of the cattiness, but this woman is one of, if not THE nicest women I have met in my personal as well as professional life. She is humble and kind and empathetic. It really bothers me that people are using aliases to insult her on the boards and sending her emails which are incredibly hurtful. Please, live by the motto: Do unto others as you would have done yourself. If you wouldn't want people to insult parts of your body, don't insult others. We are all supposed to be grown-ups here, let's stop treating each other like elementary school bullies, shall we?

I had my own opinion on this thread but I ended up deleting my post, as I do not really need to be involved. It does however bother me when people attack others just for the sake of being mean. I just do not get it. Hope life is treating you well Megan.

I'm sorry, that's just plain WRONG.

There are so many other bonita chicas out there, especially our locals, that you do not need to bother with such nonsense. One of my homies tried to see one of them travelers from back East. She responded but then later that same week told him, "I'm sorry, I don't recall your e-mails, did I set an appointment with you?" Too much hassle for a little pussy!!

Well I just cannot believe this thread.  Look I know I havent been here that long on the board but..

Its like a college student getting his/her first job. I have been appropriate, discreet, etc. My downfall? I have no references whatsoever. Why, you ask?  Because, I cant be seen without a reference.

This hobby is very very interesting. Most girls dont even return e-mails that are just merely trying to establish contact and so forth.

The SD Girls have been very nice and most have replied to my e-mails.  Some travelers though damn I am sorry I ever sympathized...
