Like any good answer, I start with it depends.
Downtown is best for higher end hotels. Some guys don't like to pay for parking (not sure how $2 in change matters when paying $300 for sex), and the hotels can get a bit pricy.
Lloyd center - more my favorite. Better deals on ok hotels. Beware some hotels are nice, some not, so look into it a little bit. A couple hotels also require keys to access elevators which is a PITA.
Mall 205 area - lots of cheap and somewhat undesireable hotels, still close for a lot of guys.
Clackamas - Kinda far out, but decent and affordable hotels.
Vancouver - Kinda far out, but decent and affordable hotels.
Lake Oswego/Tigard (I5/217 area) - Closer, good hotels.
Beaverton - Affordable hotels, convenient for many, but lots of concern about LE in Washington County. Screen well and be careful.
Hillsboro - Kinda far out, decent and affordable hotels, but LE concerns as well.
