I received a PM tonight from a member who, while being very complimentary, suggested that I have been posting messages that were off-topic and not PSE specific.  He felt that it was interferring with the real purpose of this board.  Personally, I think it's good to OCCASIONALLY stray from strictly porn and PSE related subjects, but that's just my opinion.  I moderate the board, but I try to let the body of members here dictate the direction it takes, so I wanted some feedback regarding if the majority of you felt the same.

Let me know; and while we're on the subject, let me know what else, if anything, you think we should add or eliminate to the overall discussion to improve our forum.

Simply Eddie, I have no problem at all with any your postings.  This Board should be fun as well as informative.  Your postings fit both of those categories.

This board is soooooo much more active, fun, and interesting when you're involved, that you're obviously doing an excellent job. That means that your instincts, with regard to topics, are right on target. I hope you'll keep mixing it up, changing the pace, and the direction. That's what keeps it fun.

I'd carry on just as you are. I think that by widening the scope of the board you make it a more interesting place.
Anyway, nobody has to read a thread that they're not interested in.

Once we cross into the hostile territory of politics, we split along party lines and it degrades into a flame fest. I always thought of this as a refuge from the political world we live in.

I think the mix is just about right. However, you need to be very careful about posts that go political. It always ends up being a bit divisive, at best; and there is a group for that.

By the way, it is completely obvious Eddie, that you are back in charge. The tone of the board as elevated back to what it was "in the good old days". (MONTHS ago!)

I was disappointed in the divisive direction the board was headed in while Eddie was on hiatus.  I enjoy the off-topic posts.  Please keep them coming.  However, it seems  the more we stay on-topic (pornstars and seeing them privately) the easier it is for everyone to get long.

I don't have a problem with occasionally straying from the main focus of porn stars.  It makes things more interesting.

Eddie -- to be fair and honest -- while I do see more of a return to civility since you've taken firm hold on the reigns (and I appreciate that), I also see a bit of abuse on your part in terms of the true nature of what this board is supposed to deal with. Just because you moderate it, doesn't give you the ability to stretch limits that others could not get away with.

Last year, I posted here about a weekend experience which dealt with 4 escorts in 4 days in LA and only one was a true porn star. The immediate attacks I got questioning why I posted on this board and not the LA board are the reason why this is my first post here since. The ladies in question were all stellar and unquestionably worthy of discussion here. Matter of fact, others have discussed them since on this very same board, yet it somehow was wrong for me to do it. That's nonsense. There wasn't a single out-of-bounds aspect to my post and I'm glad to see much of the hatred has been ramped down. It wasn't like I was talking about sports or computer equipment.

This IS a board relating to PSE experiences and questions about them and should NOT include any rants about traffic or former presidents. There's a politics board if you want to toss out worn out Bush jokes and a general discussion board to discuss rants from behind the wheel. While I tend to gloss over the posts I could care less about, I do find it inconsistent that you're able to post whatever you want because you're the moderator and others, like me in that single instance, are blasted for it. You asked ... this is my opinion. Otherwise, I do appreciate the positive return to civility.

I see nothing wrong with spicing the place up a little with stuff not directly related to porn or porn stars.  Anything would be better than another discussion of the economy and what it has done, or should do, to escort rates.

I'm relatively new to this forum, so my opinion is limited at this point, but I think there can be many threads that contribute to the sense of community and security among members that we should feel here. If a thread helps us in our pursuit or adds to the fun of the forum; then what's the harm as long as the intent of the board and good information here is still the main focus? I don't see how some conversational off topic posts will hurt anything as it stands right now.

A lot of people on the right have libertarian views which go along with about anything....But when you have a closed mind on the left or right this is what you get...

I see more talk about porn and the porn industry which I enjoy. I see less less bragging, bravado and trash talk.

Whatever you are doing is working for me. Keep it up.

I'd rather see the board the way it is now; diverse, free flowing, many opinions, etc.

Human thought is too complex to box into a "this is SUPPOSED to"..attitude.....as long as the focus is sex and women.....the sandbox is big enough

Anyone who's read this board for any length of time knows that I wear my heart on my sleeve when it comes to my liberal attitude.  But I have never kept someone else from posting their opinion regardless of it's political leaning.

And I believe that as long as it's kept civil, this can and SHOULD be a place for political discussion, particularly, but not necessarily only, when discussing a subject that pertains to our hobby.

If you've ever spent time reading the politics board on TER you know that it's often out-of-control and very confrontational; personally, because of the nature of that board I have no desire to post there, but there are times when I'd like my opinion heard, and I think that we can do that here ON OCCASION without the vitriole of the Politics and Religion board.

One of the biggest problems in this country today, in my opinion, is that our "leaders" in Washington, and I'm talking both republicans AND democrats, have lost sight of the fact that their country should come before their party.  In the old days, a republican could excoriate a democrat about his political views on the floor of Congress, or vise-versa, and then that night go out for drinks with the same guy he tore apart earlier that day.  That doesn't happen these days. Hopefully having a dialog here can maybe show in the end that we all want the same thing for our country and our fellow Americans.

In my humble opinion this board should be kept politics free. This country is pretty much divided in it's views.  It would be nice to have a place free of that subject. People just feel so strongly about politics & religion why bring it here..land of the Porn Star and our pursuit of them!
