In my past few posts, I have tried to liven up this board, much like Sly and Eddie have tried to do since taking over has moderators.

While my methods are not the same as theirs, they shouldn't be.  If my methods were the same,then I would be no different than them.

In life we have different experiences,some of us might have the same experience, yet we went about it in a different way/method.

Look at it this way, you can get from Philly to Miami several different ways, or by different methods of transporation, but the bottom line is that you end up in Miami.

By me launching my own scientific poll , one that was designed to stir your emotions, to make you think, to express your views, i.e. to get some stimulating dialog going, I had hoped to liven up this board.

In years past there seemed to be a wealth of INFORMATIVE views, and observations, real insight. Perhaps I'm wrong, and it's just the daily mundane trival junk that is on this board, that has clouded my memory.

However, I tend to think that I'm correct.  Otherwise, we wouldn't have our moderators trying to stir up your involment.

How many polls are needed to get ANY emotion out of the members?  I mean this board could be the poster child for sleeping pills.

So,if you don't like my opinions, that's fine, try to convey your feelings without resorting to calling one names, or trying to bully someone into not posting.

Try to help this board, you might be surprised as to the amount of info to be had,with intelligent conversation.

I feel as though the majority of poster now are of what I have alluded to, the new members who were harnassed by the ads in the men's magazines.

Those of who are not the person who can see a PS on a regular basis, those who can afford to pay the 1000.00 an hour, several times a year.

There's nothing wrong with that, but don't waste our space with 150 to 300.00 an hour girls.  This is the PS board, and as such it should be about recognizable names.

Now jump on me all that you want, but remember, there is a very large number of men out there, that DO NOT post.  They can't be bothered dealing with juvenile ISO's.

But they do have a wealth of info,perhaps if they observed some intelligent life here, they might participate.  I think it's worth a shot.

The only request that I have from everyone is that you follow the general posting rules at the top of this board:

"This is a moderated forum in which flames and messages outside the forum topic will be deleted. Please do not post messages that are simply mean, or meant to cause trouble for trouble's sake. This is not the area to post detailed reviews. Please submit them in the review section. That said, have fun."

Everyone's definition of "Porn Star" is different. Some may refer back to the "glory days" of porn (or even of this board). The reality is that there were plenty of gonzo girls back then too, we just don't remember them. So it's hard to know which of today's gonzo girls will be the ones we remember 10 years from now! Despite how you would like this board to run, Eddie and I have no problem allowing these girls to be talked about here. We are not going to define who are the pornstars. We'll allow the members here to do that.

And let's keep it civil here. We want this to be a place where hobbyists and PSEs alike feel comfortable hanging out here. When we start saying that certain girls are "ugly", "fat", etc., it's not likely they'll want to come pay us a visit. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't express your opinion - just do it in a kinder/gentler way.

appreciate the diversity of opinions and thoughts on this board, especially yours, vector.  True, this is more of a resource for me, but to get a glimpse of how others think, feel and react allows me to make each experience better. I apologize for not being very interactive, but the same workload that allows me to enjoy this hobby at the level I do, also prohibits me from taking the time to be a prolific poster and the contributor I should be.  This board should be a place for anything pertinent and in good taste for us hobbyists to talk about.  In this taboo industry, this is our only sounding board.  Keep us the good work, vector, sly, eddie at al.

Believe it or not I respect the difficult task that both you and Eddie have, trying to garner interest in  Porn Stars, which is what this board was originally intended to do, and at the same time try not to offend the vast majority of "poster's" at this board, good luck!

The powers to be need to come up with a better idea to make more money.  I don't think that venture got more than 10 responses.

TER wants the girls to pay for a VIP Memebership,which then gives them the right to put guys on a list.  Forget the issues that were already raised,but what would be in it for them ?

All they have to do is contact one another, (which they already do) to verify a guy.  Once again,what's in it for them.

I remember seeing posts from at least 10 PS's a couple of years ago, now,it's a cold day in HELL before you see a girl post.

If I am not mistaken I have only seen one or two PSE's post here in months!!!  I think Keisha has only posted a few times in the past year.

I also remember many PSE's getting attacked on a regular basis, for no other reason then to be down right mean!!!!

NO ONE put a stop to it, and 99% of those ladies no longer  post here.   I believe this is when TER started to slowly start to decline , and it snowballed with the influx of guy's who don't have a clue!

If a guy from this board the "Porn Stsr Board" can post that Jenna deserves only a 6 on a scale from 1-10,,,and that  the girl we are all talking about, get's an 8!!   Then there is something wrong somewhere.

Now Jenna is very attractive,she's not my cup of tea, but she IS hot, so my view is not jaded.  My post reference some girl from Bang the Sea Captain,is a nobody,and quite frankly,can't hold a candle to Christy Lake, not to mention Jenna.

As for the White List, while I do think it's a good idea, I had nothing to do with its creation by TER. The moderator position is strictly an unpaid volunteer position with no policy making authority anywhere on TER, other than moderating his board.

The pie is bigger now, and there are more outlets.  I read a comment that the girls are getting uglier because of internet sites, but in fact, I think the opposite is true.  There are many more attractive girls willing to do porn today than 10 or 20 years ago.  Girls of such different types to appeal to most guy's preference, and the new girls all seem to be doing internet porn.  Compare the girls on LADirect Models to Ginger Lynn, Amber Lynn and Porche Lynn in their prime.  They compare favorably in my opinion.  Most of the girls on that site can be found on one internet site or another.  

The reason we know the star names is there were so few girls who really stood out back then.  That is not the case today.  Very few stand out now because the talent pool is so large, and very few video companies seem to be investing in the star system today, contracting a girl to build her up to the next Ginger or Jenna.

Let's welcome all girls to this board and all opinions of them even if a particular girl is not inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame.

This thread has caused me to rethink how I should view the 'Appearance' rating section of posted reviews.  To be honest, I kind of blindly figured that most guys would rate appearance similarly for the most part and our diverse thoughts would vary in the 'Performance' ratings.  I mean we might disagree over a '8' vs a '10' for looks but never would we vary to the point of getting '5' and '6' mixed with 8 - 10.  Now I'm not sure about that anymore.  Will a big time 'boob' guy tend to give high appearance marks to a well-endowed lady regardless of body or facial attributes? Likewise will a 'leg' man tend to give high marks simply because she has killer legs? Then there are guys who cannot believe that a lady over 30 can be beautiful, etc.  Bottomline we will look at pictures to make our own judgements anyway but if I see someone scaling appearances way different then  my own opinion then I think I might tend to second guess the performance review as well.  I suppose that is why it is always good to look at multiple reviews about a provider to look for such variances amongst the reviewers.

In other words, there is NO dialog with the PS's, and there is no participation by PS's anymore.

There have been 114 posts by PS's in a 365 day search, pretty pathetic.

As to your powers, I'm not confused, I stated the POWERS TO BE AT TER, should give the PS's an incentive to post, give them a VIP membership, for free.

have you seen Jenna *without* makeup? i rest my case!  ... seriously, i have (on some E special few years back and on numerous candid photos over the years) ... but in reality i didn't even need to see her in person, cuz i could already tell what she'd look like when not dolled-up to the gills

i've seen the PSEs i've banged up close and personal and sans makeup. they may not be considered the "10" you guys rate Jenna at, but they sure were a damn sight prettier au naturale

I agree with most of what you have said. However, let me point this out: a well known porn star some times is not an 8 or even a 7 in looks. Let´s remember Georgina Spelvin. A very well known porn star from the 70's. She was not a beauty, at least not for me, but she knew how to put on show on film. As Georgina, there were other well known stars that I would not rate them as beuties.
Now, let´s talk about Ana from BangBros. First, you are right, she is not a well known porn star. I don't now for sure how many movies she's done, but she has done a few. However, she is doing porn on film (i have a DVD with her on) so, that makes her at least a rookie porn star or a rookie porn actress if you will.
Now, dispite what you have said about Ana (and I do respect your opinion) I happen to find her atractive, and if a member of this board has any info on her, I would like to know it.

Actually I've never seen Jenna in person. I can't imagine she's not hot looking even without make-up, but perhaps you're correct.

This isn't about winning or losing. Frankly I could care less. I was just refuting your "facts" from your original post that only 1 or 2 PSE's have posted here in months. That's just not true, as at least 19 have posted in the past month. And your methodology is flawed in how you are searching. You need to plug the girls username in as the author in order to get an accurate count. Over the course of the last year, there have been many more PSE's who have posted here. I agree that in the past, this was not a friendly place for a lot of PSE's, as every time one would post, she would get bashed for some stupid reason (she's ugly, she's a ripoff, her rate is too high, she's fat, etc.). That will just not be tolerated any more! I can personally recall a thread with Angel Cassidy, calling her fat from some candid photo someone posted. I had personally seen her a month earlier, and she was supermodel hot when I saw her. Perhaps she blimped up in a month, but I hightly doubt it.

Eddie and I have only been moderating this board for a few months now, so we are working on bringing some of the ladies back. It will take time, as many of them have gotten burned here. Add to that the general wariness that many of these ladies have since the E2K fiasco. I've had multiple PSE's who used to participate here tell me that that is the main reason they don't participate here, and some have even pulled their profiles to remove any "evidence".

Vector, you're obviously a smart and experienced hobbyist. Please join me in making this board as good as it can be. You can continue to post here with your ideas, but I would hope that you would keep it positive with the direction the board is currently going in. Also, feel free to PM me at any time when that method of communication is more appropriate.
