Now that Puck's gone riding off into the sunset, I need an extra pair of hands- plus I've been here long enough, we need new blood that's more engaged in this than I am. It's sort of an accident that I am here- came in to help Eddie out, ended up as the primary mod after his untimely passing.

Nobody can replace him, but many of you I think can succeed him.

I will post what I posted last time, and add on to it some things that have been pointed out to me:

Qualifications I am looking for:

From the page on mods:

"Moderators are seasoned members who volunteer there time to help with the message boards. They are usually long term members who have a good understanding of the escort scene and the willingness to help others who have questions or concerns in their local area. The moderators approve or disapprove message posts and also decide who and who not to un-moderate. This board is a private area where these diligent volunteers can communicate with each other in a private forum.

If you would like to be on the list of volunteers who may be considered to be a moderator, have at least 1 year history with TER, and have a true desire to help other members in your community please e-mail [email protected] with your TER username, the reason why you think you would be a good moderator, your real name and phone number, and the city you live in. Please put "I want to be a moderator" in the subject line."

Additional qualifications:

- an active history on the PS Board and in the community at large. Preferably with some review history, too.
- a posting history where you haven't needed to be gagged like the Gimp in Pulp Fiction (in other words, you understand the rules)
- you are not a current or former mod (I think this board can use some new blood)
- you should be willing to do some discussion topics. Threads on who's appearing at shows like Exxotica. Porn Star Friday. Local appearances. You get the idea.
- you don't look at being a mod as some sort of external validation of your self-worth, penis size, or plan on building a tiny empire. I am disinclined to look at lifers for this job; I think we would all be better off rotating through some mods here. We have a number of good members here, and I want people to think of being a moderator as a volunteer duty, not King Of The Porn Star Board. (Yes, that means  I plan on leaving this job at some point in the not-to-distant future. But we don't want to throw a newbie into the shark tank. I want someone who is confident and familiar with the place and how moderation works here.)
- an ability to deal with ambiguity (things are different here from any other board on TER; the usual rules do not apply in some places, which makes some things tricky) and personality conflicts in a manner that's fair to the members, both hobbyists and providers/agencies.
- the ability to get along with a co-moderator. This board will generally need one.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

I will NOT be accepting self-nominations. In other words: you can nominate someone else, but not yourself. (For the record, someone else nominated soflaguy44, the co-mod previous to Puck; he did not ask me for the job. I didn't ask for this job, either- someone else suggested me as Sly's replacement, since Eddie needed some help because of things he went through.)

How to nominate:

PM me (boneboybob)  with a username and a statement about why you nominated this person. Yes, that means I am requiring you to have VIP (that's part of wanting to see your commitment to this community). I do NOT want nominations made publicly in this thread (anyone suggesting one will have their post deleted and nomination rejected: you must follow directions)- this isn't about publicly stroking egos. Your nominations will be vetted by the other mods (who will probably know about your posting history elsewhere) and are completely subject to Admin's approval (if she says no-go, it's a no-go; sorry, them's the breaks). I may or may not inform people of their nominations during the process; it depends on how this goes (how many we get).

Questions about the process will be allowed in this thread, but I are pretty much not particularly willing to change how this will go (except for maybe letting people know who was nominated and met the cut, that's the only part we haven't settled on), though if you have a compelling argument that doesn't go "you suck" I am willing to listen and consider it- and remember, no nominations here. This is not the thread to argue about recent moderator decisions or anything else.
