My answer?  About 15, but keep in mind that I was married for 20 years and didn't cheat.

I'm not sure it makes one a "player" maybe lucky though as a lot of opportunities came my way in college and beyond.  

Before I started this "endeavor" my number was around 62.  I've sprinkled in about 12 or so since hobbying. I might add I also had the advantage of not being married and not fathering any children.

What could be really interesting is if you were to ask (i) how many NON-ESCORTS have you had sex with, and (ii) how many ESCORTS have you had sex with? Now that would be interesting to see how the numbers compare

i'm trying to decide which is more lame...the fact that i think i've had romantic interludes with no more that about 10 women who aren't providers, or the fact that some of you are reporting these huge exact numbers of women you've seen.....come on, someone counted 62?  do  you all keep lists of each and every woman you've seen?

I probably couldn't tell you exactly how many providers I've seen, but I remember every single one of my non-escort encounters... maybe that's because I never had a one-night stand, so mine were either relationships or casual sex I had in college with someone I knew who I fucked more than once.

i can tell you each and every non escort encounter i've had as well, but only because there have been so few of them...and a few of them were one nighters

and i would have to say that i have a clear memory of only about 10% to 20% of the providers i've seen...i don't even know if its that high...

I seriously have lost the ability to differentiate between the two.

My answer:

Number of girlfriends/SOs/etc.: 2

Number of escorts: roughly 200-300

Number of non-escorts and non-girlfriends/SOs: unknown

The reason that number is unknown is because I've been going to swinger events for over 20 years and have been involved in multiple encounters, including a few orgies.  The number is probably around 20-30 different females though, since I generally see the same people at the same parties.

Okay, I actually added this up a while back and came up with a number between 15-18 if I recall (not counting providers). This is including a few multi-year relationships as well as every single one nighter going back to high school, and I'm just turning 40 this year - so I guess I'm pretty average as far as the numbers go.  

Yikes this is a big number for me. I know by my mid 20's it was well over 75. I couldn't come close to an exact number of drunken one night stands I had in the 90's. Since I don't drink anymore those encounters no longer happen. Escorts allow the same kinds of exciting experiences with far far less risk and much less effort.

Of course, I grew up in different times. I went to college in 1955 through 1959 and scored zero for those years (not through lack of trying). In fact I was a virgin until I came to California in 1960 at the age of 23.

Also, the longest term relationship of my life lasted 31 years (including the 16 years we were married up until her death from cancer metastisized to the bones in 2007.) Somewhere around 50, I think.  I stopped counting sometime after college, though having been unlucky, so to speak, in high school, I was a little obsessed with my numbers in college.

It is true.  Did I go into each encounter keeping track, no, but I had been asked a few times.  Not sure if you remember but in the mid-late 80's there was a childish game going on at some colleges where guys were having "contests" and "point systems".  At that time, my roommates and I thought we'd have a contest with this point system (there were 4 of us)  We kept track for a school year and that is basically how it started.  Yes immature, but I was 20 and many things we find "neat" at 20 or so we later see as poor decisions.  That year I was with 12 and did NOT "win" the contest.

I said I'm not sure so we counted.  I was now around 24 and in grad school. I gave a name and description and he wrote them down so I could not repeat or make them up.  If he did not know or could not verify them it did not count.  As younger immature college boys we always told someone and we had been in college together and knew practically every hook up.  When I finished the list he read off 38 names.  From that point I decided to keep track to see where it would go from there.

I remember the first few times I got tested and those few days before you get your results it's amazing how many women you suddenly "remember" while waiting for your results. That "fear" and a clean slate motivated me to play safe as I considered myself incredibly lucky.

Looking back, I'm not saying I'm proud of it and sometimes I do wish it had been lower, but it is what it is.  This is one reason why I do not have a facebook account nor will I ever run for any office, lol.
