Rule against sharing info ?

I may be off base and if I am, I apologize in advance to any and all who might be affected. But there is a supposed rule or policy that has me scratching my head. Time was, we USED to be able to share UTR info. Quietly and privately via PM. Fast Eddie ( rest in peace) and I did it all the time.
I've done it with several other fellows on here and I am glad to do it.

From time to time, I have info on a UTR friend who is visiting and would be willing to see people I know. I have literally been told that I should just send out PM's. The obvious question being : How the hell I am supposed to know in advance who might or might not be interested in seeing her ?
One person even told me I should just post her name ! ? ! ? Duh ! If I post her name then she isn't UTR anymore is she ? And isn't there a rule AGAINST posting the names of UTR's ?

Everyone knows that I am NOT a pimp. I do not benefit in any way from sharing info. The members do. Don't you ? On occasion I am even able to arrange for substantial discounts for TER members that I can vouch for.

I always get confused by policies or rules that want the members of a board to get LESS info. If there is a justification or purpose behind such a policy then I admittedly do not get it. That may not be the design or purpose for this supposed rule but that is certainly the effect. Or am I missing something ?

Since I am apparently not allowed to post any info, anyone who is as equally confused as I am will have to send me a PM.

Saying "I know this chick who's UTR and coming into town and I can hook you up with a discount because I am her buddy", as you did on several boards, is an ad. Hobbyists cannot post ads. Long standing TER policy.

Here's the policy in question:

http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?boardID=33&Messageid=75544

"WHO MAY POST ADS?

Provider ADs cannot be posted by anyone other than themselves, their booker, or another provider.

Ladies, do not ask guys to post ads for you—it only gets them moderated.

Ads and promos for providers who have been delisted or banned from TER will be removed."

And invoking Fast Eddie is bullshit. UTR information gets circulated OFF the boards- at the most you offer yourself as a resource and ask for PMs, but don't write an ad (including a discount). Fast Eddie knew that- which is why he had resources that didn't involve TER (and thus didn't violate TER policies).

O.K. O.K. It's an "ad'. I promise not to do it again.

Thank you for taking the time to explain it.
