First off most stds are curable. Second, if you are worried you are probably in the best hands, mouths, etc. that you could be. Porn Stars are ironically probably one of the safest categories you coud indulge in. The girls are almost mandated to get tested quite frequently by the nature of their work.

Over 40 million Americans have gential Herpes. It is not curable and you will have it for the rest of your life.

A pornstar who shall remain nameless told me that she thinks about 95% of all pornstars have herpes. It makes sense since it's highly contagious and 2 out of every 5 adults have it. If a pornstar has had sex with hundreds or thousands of men and women, they have a good chance of carrying the virus.

If 95% of the Female Porn star population had herpes then every male hobbyist who had unprotected oral sex would be infected and that activity would most likely not being offered.. Certainly if I became infected by a provider I would let them know and I might post. The thing to remember about herpes is yes it is incurable. However even those that carry it are not infectious every day in their lives. According to what I have read, usually contagious when there are open sores or blistering which is visible. However the long and short of it is that if you do not feel comfortable don't do it. I spoke to one of those clinics that told me the risk of my catching anything was minimal for oral sex. If however he said that I saw something or something did not smell right, I should not do it.

That's somewhat of a simplification... Pornstars are required to have pcr/dna tests done monthly for HIV screening, but the industry isn't as stringent about other std testing....  A full std work-up isn't usually required, unless the lady herself requests it of any on-screen partner, and if she has the clout to insist on it.  Some pornstars do not kiss in either a fan meeting or even in their videos, because of the risk of stds, although I alway found it somewhat comical that they use condoms and then perform a bbbj to completion, even with the fact that contracting HIV from oral sex is almost next to impossible.

I know some of the pornstars do have regular top to bottom screenings, but that's their choice (and a smart one), not an industry requirement.

Secondly, not all of the pornstars who do escort are currently active in the adult video industry, so they're not necessarily any safer than a non-pornstar provider.

Any activity comes with a certain amount of risk, and we all have to decide individually how much we are willing to take... being single with no current significant other, I choose to see ladies who offer DFK, BBBJ, etc., but if I was married or involved, my choices might be different.  A gentleman on big doggie just posted a request for information on any pornstars who offered bare back full service, so it seems that there are some who are willing to take a larger risk then most...

FastEddie,

Here is a heated question for you and all other hobbyists. What would you do in a situation where you came down with an STD that you got from a provider? Let's make it more complicated...
The provider is someone who you like and respect and you know did not intentionally infect you, and was probably unaware that she herself was infected?

What do you do? Let's say the STD is something like Herpes?
Obviously you would probably tell the provider, but would your responsibility end there? What about to other hobbyists?

What should a provider do versus what they would do?
Surely this must have happened in this hobby?  There must be some type of protocol or etiquette of how this is handled? If the provider asked you not to reveal this, yet you learned she was having unprotected oral sex and posed a risk of spreading it, would you be silent? Any advice??

Littlebasterd (I sure you're not :) )--

My answer to your scenario is -- I would call the provider, tell her what's going on, and work with her in some way to address the issue, e.g. provide information, etc. I would also urge her to tell future clients and previous clients privately about her condition. I think this is the best way, which gets the right information to the right people, without a witchhunt. Silence is wrong, and it's sometimes death.

It's a damn good question. I think if we're willing to talk about some of the most intimate details of our encounters with PSEs, we should also have the same candor when it comes to such an important topic.

I've seen posts from hobbyists who swear up and down that they were safe with a PSE and that they themselves don't carry anything. Yet, when it's asked, "What tests do you have?" the answer's usually "Oh, I had an HIV test." Jesus! What about other STDs, many of which that have NO SYMPTOMS in men, but can cause nasty things like infertility  and cancer and women and men.

One thing that will shut our hobby down for good is if the wrong guy does the wrong thing with the wrong PSE, goes home, gives whatever he has to his SO, and that SO goes on a public crusade.

We need to talk about these things. This thread laid dormant for days, because it seems NOBODY wanted to touch it. But, if someone posts something about a BBBJ or Greek, replies come flooding in within minutes. This needs to be a higher priority!

You raise an interesting question? I was very curious as to why this thread was not touched? That in itself is disturbing. I feel that the question needs to be reposted again at the top with input from both providers and hobbyists..

PS:  Little Basterd was the name that James Dean gave to his porshe which he cracked up and died in.. Always been a James Dean fan..
