I registered w/Talent Testing Servies (anyone 18 and over can use TTS, civilians are welcome just like they were at AIM) and will use them for my upcoming trip....AIM was in trouble for a while now, so i was looking for other testing avenues since last year....Like Clint Eastwood said in Heartbreak Ridge "You improvise, you overcome, you adapt" (if AIM closes, you test somewhere else)...Ok, he didn't say the part in parenthesis, but he would have if he were me...I would sit in my hotel room and watch Hawaii Five-O reruns (the one with Jack Lord, not the current CBS one) before i book appts. i don't want...I'm only booking one type of appt....

Hell hath no fury like the AHF scorned, and their relentless pursuit of AIM helped drive them out of business...

This is horrible news on many levels. I used AIM many times over the years just because of the confidentiality in testing. I got to know a couple of the staff who were very nice people. I hope they landed on their feet. I even called a few weeks ago and was told they were remolding.

The aspect which I think many people will not understand nor appreciate unless you have been there and know some of the talent beyond the session is AIM was a safe place for them to go. It was part of the industry and they were not shunned there. It is sad to say, for some talent it was the only medical care they would have. Aim made efforts to educate and from what I heard there was a blacklist kept of talent to prevent talent from spreading diseases to the pool.

Funny thing is a few months back I had my flu shot and asked my doctor for a full panel STD test. I wanted insurance to cover it.  He asked if I was involved with high risk activity…multiple partners….unprotected sex and prostitution. He at least held back from lecturing me as one doctor did many years ago but suggested that I reconsider participating in such activities if I had been. I let him finish then explained I just thought my girlfriend was cheating, which is not the case. He said “Oh OK, I will have the nurse schedule you.” See AIM rocked, none of that BS.

Good point you made about how talent was not shunned there (at AIM)..

Look, i've been testing thru my primary care physician for a long time now, and when a script is given w/the proper ICD-9 code, it will be covered under insurance - that's why one has insurance...

I used AIM, and will now use TTS, for purposes of appts...

The kind of testing that AIM did was different than the test you typically get at a physician's office, though. You have to specifically request the DNA-PCR test for the highest accuracy.
Unfortunately, though, what happened with the AIM database breach and the leaking of personal information about everybody in or out of porn is what most of us will really remember about AIM.

You don't need a script from a MD to test at TTS or AIM...Scripts from an MD are for when a physician orders tests and they are submitted to insurance...

You have to register w/TTS and pay before going to a draw station, you don't just show up....However, one can walk in to their LA office (and i think they have one in Florida to) and test that way...

I notice on the TTS website that there are multiple HIV tests.
Which tests do you request and what is the cost?

Do you just show up at a draw location or do you need a script from an MD?
