When I first discovered the wonder world of the PSE, I was like a kid in a candy shop.  I got to "be" with many of the women I had fantasized and rubbed one out to, and in many cases got to video tape it as well.  Taylor Wayne, Raylin, Keisha, Farrah, Rebecca Steele... the list goes on.

But the truth of the matter is I haven't seen a new PSE in almost two years.  I keep going back to my tried and true favorites.

So my question is this... For the veterans here, do you have the same enthusiasm for the hobby as you did when you started, and if not, why?  And for the "newbies", what is the PRIMARY appeal of todays crop of PSEs?

For my part, my waning enthusiasm is caused by a couple of reasons.  One, the kind of girls that I'm attracted to are now at a price range that I'm just not willing to pay.  For example, Tory Lane, Brittany Skye or Lanny Barbie are ALL women I'd love to spend a multiple hour date with, but they're simply priced out of my range.  

Another reason is that the newer pornstars just don't appeal to me like the girls from the 80's or 90's do.  Most of the new girls just don't have the sense of glamour and fantasy the the older stars do.  Women like Taylor Wayne, Kathy Willets, and Keisha spend a lot of time to do their makeup and wear aexy outfit so when they answer the door they look like they've just come from a box cover shoot for one of their videos.  I just don't WANT to be with a girl who answers the door with little or no makeup on, wearing jeans and a sweatshirt.  I once asked a girl to put on a pair of stiletto heels, and she told me she hadn't brought any with her!!!

And I guess another reason, to a lesser extent, is that there are just so many girls doing it these days.  Girls who've made one movie and are now "pornstars".  It's lost a lot of it's exclusivity and seems more mundane.  But maybe that's just me being snobbish.

Boy Eddie, I could not agree more.  Over the years I have had the pleasure of spending time with some of my fantasies as well: Stevie, Miko Lee, Tabitha Stevens, Jodie Moore and the great Anna Malle.  These ladies understand the importance of the "visual" effect.   Even though the price was quite high (for me at least), I never walked away feeling anything less than pure extacy.  I've noticed that the current crop of ladies in porn are less into the art of seduction and more into the gonzo thing.  I also agree that my budget  will simply not allow me to spend time with many of the current crop you mention above.

For me at least, the objective is not simply to be screwed, but rather to be enjoyed.  I want to be treated as though there is no where else my date would rather be than on her knees, pleasuring me.  Is that too much to ask?  

Having said this,  I have recently discovered a new talent that has my juices flowing again.  Her name is Kendall Brooks and she is amazing.  Reminds me of Kaylann Nicole for  those who remember her.  Maybe she will  enter the hobby arena, but then again, I probably couldn't afford her.

Simply put they are true courtesans and its a way of life, a chosen lifestyle.
As opposed to todays girls that seem to make it out to be a popularity contest. To inflate egos so they can claim they are the "IT" girl.

I also feel that the mainstreaming of adult is at fault. Which creates the point I just made about egos. The girls show up at events and rub elbows with the mainstream people and feel they have "made it".
They see girls like Paris, Nicole, Tara be all over the media for doing nothing and hope the same can happen for them. But I digress.

I gear up for the ladies that live the fantasy. They make me fantasize about getting a chance to meet them and be part of that fantasy.

I also agree w/ Ed. When I first discovered the hobby I was lucky enough to have Taylor Wane be my first PSE. The only thing bad about my induction into the hobby was after having Taylor all future providers would have a hard act to follow. Some have done very well others have been a disappointing, But  I like Ed want to see the girl open the door and look like a "porn star" and I also tend to go back to the girls that I have seen before because alot of the new ones don't look like "porn stars" to me. i'm glad I have been lucky enough to see some top notch ladies who have lived up to the hype. I have also noticed alot of non-porn providers that look hotter than some of the so-called porn stars.

I think the reason its so appealing when new is that you have always wanted a certain girl and BAM!  You can get her and its great.  Now we see girls go from escort to porn star and you think, I got her at $300 before she did the 37 guy, 2 mastiff and 1 horse gang bang!  My ultimate was Rebecca Wilde and the first time was great...the second a disaster.  That and a few other things killed it for me...but I have my few I would like to see.  You want what you cannot have and for about 12 years I saw Rebecca and could not have her...then one day I could.  I have seen a few that I wanted...still looking for Lana Burner and Heather Torrance...those 2 would get me back to "kid in candy store mode!"

While I have not seen nearly as many pornstars as you I understand the feeling.  The ones I did see were fantasies I wanted fulfilled and they did not disappoint.  I will admit I go back and forth between the pornstars and other providers so not sure if that disqualifies me. As for price range I try to evaluate each lady on her own merit or "value" to me.  How badly do I want to see her vs. her rate.  I've never complained about a rate as that is each ladies' choice but lately I've had some wonderful sessions with ladies who are not in that range. Still I find ladies who are tempting.  All my filming has been with amateurs (non providers) so that has removed that wish.  Ironically I don't watch porn so I'm not up on the current ladies though the info here helps me make my selections.  Not sure if I answered your question but thought I'd comment.

The prices are insane in some cases and in most cases just simply not justified. I had a few experiences were I was rushed as well and I am now very picky whom I see if I see anyone.
There are a few very special ladies out there that I would love to see again or would like to see for the first time but let's face it, there are so many beautyful (or more beautyful) providers out there for better prices and better services (no primadona attitude) compared to the 1 or 2 movie self proclaimed pornstars around...hell I was in adult movies...that makes me pornstar, maybe I should charge them...lol

I'm a total horndog, and would fuck every good looking provider if I could afford it (time, money, energy, etc.).  But I can't, and don't.

I got into the hobby by accident...years ago at one of NY's smaller stripclubs, a stripper took me in the back room for what I thought was going to be a HJ and she put the condom on and fucked me.  It was so hot and exciting, and then I discovered that there was a network on-line to share our activities.  I didn't have to try and find a hooker on the street and/or risk getting arrested.

I got involved in the hobby and have seen my share of porn stars and non-porn stars in NY and Florida.  Tons of fun.

Nowadays, I pick and choose.  I wish I could have seen Kate Frost when she was in Florida, and loved seeing another PSE (who shall remain nameless because although she works at the BunnyRanch when not feature dancing, she doesn't actively advertise here or elsewhere).

The other difference for me lately is living in Florida, where extras are available as a matter of course at any strip club.  It makes hobbying easier when I don't have time to arrange a specific appointment with a provider or I have a spur of the moment need for fun.

That being said, I'm kicking myself for wasting money at Scores NY last night instead of seeing any provider.

And yes, there are way too many girls who do one film or vignet on a website and declare themselves porn stars.  Though I'd fuck many of them if I could.

I don't know whether I am considered vet or a newbie, probably somewhere in between.  I agree with Ed, the more mature ladies tend to "get it" and tend to make it a much better experieince, whereas the younger ones are nice, but tend to be colder and not place an emphasis on the PSE as much.  MY three ATF's, Taylor Wayne, Kathy Willets and Harley Davis (four actually with a fav UTR lady) all make it a much grander experience.

I jumped into the Hobby when I discovered that some of my favorite pornstars were actually available to mere mortals.  In many ways, they were like seeing loud, big budget summer action films "enhanced" with lots of special effects.  And while I love the thrill of those kind of escapist films, if you've seen one Michael Bay film, you've generally seen them all.  After awhile, they all tend to follow the same formula guaranteed to bring mass commercial success.  Doesn't mean they're bad, but rarely is there any new ground being broken.  

For me, PSE's sometimes present the same challenges. After a while, they sort of all tend to look and feel the same.  The special effects ARE spectacular but without a story line, script or characters that you care about, it just isn't all that interesting.  Sometimes smaller, low budget films from undiscovered or independent directors can provide a much more satisfying experience.  I agree with Eddie, (The Jedi Master) that certain legendary directors (Keisha, Ava Devine, Kathy Willets, etc...) ARE legends for a reason.

I started hobbying about 4 years (wow, that long?)ago and started similiar to Eddie - with a high enthusiasm for porn stars period.  I was entranced by E2K and later, as I discovered, EROS adds.  It was amazing to me that I could be with the women I had fantasized about and it blew my mind.  As time has gone on, I've discovered what I like in a session and find that it seems to pay off better when I stick more to the tried and true providers who will give me everything I am looking for.  Although I sometimes venture beyond my personal comfort zone and try other providers, I find myself going back to old friends more and more.

I first discovered the world of PSE back in 2000, thanks to the internet and the now defunct E2K.  My first PSE was Gauge.  I'm a sucker for tiny petite girls, so when I saw her pics online and that she was available, I took the plunge.  She had just got in to town and didn't have time to do herself up, but she's still a hot little sweety anyway.  She was probably only in the biz a year or so and only about 20.  It was a good time, if I'd known about TER then I'd have given her a 9/8.  Seemed she was holding something back.  About 3 months later I got to see Montana Gunn.  The reason I wanted to see her was because when I called E2K to inquire about Gauge, Montana was answering the phones for them and her and I ended up having a 20 minute conversation and she seemed really cool and wild.  When I saw her, she was in her mid 30s and had more experience in the biz than Gauge.  Montana was much more uninhibited and seemed to know what I wanted and how to give it to me.  I'd have given her a 8/9.  That being the generalized difference between a younger newer girl and a more mature experienced woman.
I've also seen a couple newbie PSs, who are still in the process of making a name for themselves, Tatiana Stone and Baylee (350/hr for each, I have reviews for each).  Tatiana was very mechanical and lacked the understanding of what being a 'fantasy girl' is about.  Baylee was just very immature.  While Miko Lee did EVERYTHING to fulfill my fantasies.  She just has the knowledge and raw energy to make an amazing time and plays the part of the fantasy PS very very well.  And for a legend like her, she has really reasonable rates.  Again, the generalized difference between the younger newer girls and the more experienced woman.
There are about 20 PSs (that I currently know of) I'd love to get with.  Some I'd be hesitant because they are young and though great on film, might not understand how to play the PS fantasy girl.  Others because like Eddie mentioned, just want too damn much for their time (1500+/hr.), especially the ones who tour with an agency.  Yeah, the agency pays their way and does their scheduling, books the flights and hotels for them, but I'm sure because of the prices they want that they're doing a lower volume of business.  For example, Miko Lee, whose on the site clubhotpink.com.  It's not an agency per say, it's a small group of PSs who share the same personal assistant, Melanie, and because of that they have lower rates (1000/hr.).  It'd be nice to see more PSs go this route, groups of 6-8 who hire the same personal assistant to book for them.  So they'd be indy, charge a more affordable rate and be able to meet more of their fans.

As usual, Eddie is right on with a number of points.    I go back and forth a lot between PSEs and "regular" girls.  I also go back and forth between seeing new people and sticking with my favorites.  Frankly, if my favorites were always available and never changed, I'd probably never see anyone new.

In my case there are a couple of things I like about PSE verses regular girls is the extreme sexuality; the overt, flaunting of sex.  Take, for example, a Daphne Rosen or Lexxi Tyler.  These are girls that you would pause to take a second (and third and fourth...) look at if you saw them in the supermarket.

The other thing I like is knowing a bit more what to expect.  i.e. you've seen her in a dozen movies probably with extreme close-ups;  she's likely to look a lot like that in person.  With a "regular" Eros ad, even someone reasonably well-reviewed, it's still pretty hit and miss what she really looks like.

So back to Eddie's posting, the Internet has enabled a flood of girls who do a couple of Internet videos and call themselves a porn star.  Most of them certainly don't have the PSE look that Eddie described or I'm interested in.  The result is that the percentage of girls today in porn who are comparable to the stars of yesterday that Eddie talks about is very low.

I like the new girls. I have seen more then 30 adult stars and have enjoyed both new and the more mature. Most of my repeats have been with the older stars but newer girls such as Jasmine Tame and Delilah Strong were as good an experiance as any I've had.

I got into these to be with pornstars (actually a specific PS). I've only done it once and plan to do it at most 3 times more maybe. I'm not sure. As for the new pornstars, if you all fantasized about the Willets and such, people like me do the same with the Daphne Rosen, Carmella Bings and such. OK, I am a newbie, no denying it. And I am currently searching for my first PSE. I have contacted a few ladies, and have received some responses back. My criteria for the ladies I contacted has been the following(all based on them allowing me the pleasure of their company):
they're "level" of stardom in the business, the appeal they have to me, their performance on camera, and the reviews they have received, if any. these are in no particular order, except for the following, and that is how much they appeal to me. if i am correct, this is all about living the fantasy of being with someone who is "not attainable otherwise". i have a long list of stars that i would love to spend some of my $ on, but finacial reasons, and a small bit of common sense has me remaining in control. the bumper crop of new stars is great for variety, but not necessarily good for level of service. i just don't see how a young pornstar, with limited experience in the business, is worth spending a significant amount of $ on for an hours worth of entertainment. there are a few of the nwe younger actress that i would love to see, and they are available, but first, i want to see the women that i have lusted after for a long time. i don't plan on having a tremendous amount of pse's in my hobbying life, for a number of reasons, the most telling being that as for the women that i would truly want to spend time with, most of them are retired from the adult industry,(damn, i miss the late 80's to the late 90's), or do not provide. alas, my loss for starting this hobby late in life, and for having champagne taste on a beer budget.

I agree completely. with Eddie. Certain ladies understand that for the hobbyist, they're fulfilling a fantasy. They're usually more mature (not in age, but in attitude) and also are smart enough to know that repeat customers are the bread & butter of the biz.

Many, not all, younger starlets haven't figured out yet that, these days, there are hundreds, if not thousands of girls doing porn and they have to set themselves apart. The attitude is they're doing you a favor by seeing you. Most will be gone in a few years after they make a few bucks (and then blow most of it). 'tis the way of the world.

you are right about 2 things eddie ist alot of these girls are not pornstars they do porn but stars no. second the prices these chicks want are unreal. i pay it cuz im hopelessly addicted to pretty chicks with hot bodies but i certainly am not in awe of their stardom lol the agencies have absolutely ruined these girls with their rediculous prices. after all, all things in perspective, they are just females with tits (most are not even thiers) and pussys. most are demanding, wont travel too far, and expect you to go out of your way to see them only to pay a rediculous price and when the hour is up they are outa there.

I know I am probably late to this string, but Eddie is right on. My first PSA was Veronica Brazil. Wow! What an introduction to this hobby. I still find the girls from the 80's and 90's more exciting. I had the chance to see the likes of Nici Sterling, Aja, Tricia Yen, Dominique Simone, Kitty Yung, and some others from taht period, all before they retired, and the great Anna Malle before she left us so suddenly last year. My last PSE was Mimi Miyagi who also hails from the 90's. I wish that names like Crystal Gold, Racquel Darrian, Dyanna Lauren, and others were still around.   I had to think about this before answering. I've been doing this for 2 years now & when I first heard about this hobby, I was naturally intrigued, butalso a little hesitant. That's why I met up w/Angela Summers for her lunch dates, it was safe. Around January '05 I had a meeting scheduled w/a provider in another state, but she no-showed, so it left me pissed. I had my first encounter in April '05 and IO met up w/her 4 times total (last being July '06). In that time, I've met up w/7-8 more w/varying results.  You could say I jumped in w/both feet, but began to sink fast.
  I agree w/Eddie, most of the girls I wanted to see (taylor Wayne, Jodie Moore, Rebecca Love, just to name a few) were out of my price range or some retired. I knew of other ones, but wasn't interested.
  I kind of decided to stick w/the ones (Barbie Blazer, Ashley Shye) I've see in the past due to their trustworthiness. The newst one I saw was in June, but she left after 5 hours due to an allergic reaction to latex (which she failed to tell me beforehand).  There are a few girls I haven't seen yet that I like to see (Liv Wylder, Ava Devine, Tawny Brie, Leeanna Heart, Sarah Lee - she's out of Vegas, Jerzi Lynn, Isabel Caruso)), but if I can't, I won't be terribly upset.  It's mainly due to lack of finances and I'm getting more selective in who I see.
