I have never had a session with a porn star and was curious to see if others in the community think the $$$$ is worth the experience?  Is there something different/more than being able to re-create the fanasty whenever you see the provider in a vid?  

Also is date-check.com sufficient for screening?

It's all in the mind of the beholder.  If it matters to you to be able to look at her porn and say, "Yeah, I boned that," then it's worth it.  Or you could think, "Why would I pay twice the rate of a really hot provider just to bone someone whose videos I can see?"  There is no wrong answer.  Or a right one.
As for date-check sufficing, as with any girl screening requirements vary, so there is not right answer.  If you have D-C or P411 it helps but you may need to give other info.

not unlike my experiences with girls who aren't on camera.  But that said, I have not had any time with a porn actress (it would be stretch to call them all "stars") that I truly regretted.  Even the ones that weren't as into it (an issue for me every time) were still fun.  As my grandfather used to say, "boy, the worst sex I ever had was pretty damn good!" For my money, it comes down to two factors: First, obviously, the girl.  You have quite the review history and know how to use the benefits of this site so if you're going to take the plunge, do your research and stick with girls with recent, good reviews.  Second, I think it depends upon how much of a porn aficionado you are.  Me, I cop to being a big fan, have been for some time and I've been fortunate enough to spend some quality time with some of my ATF's.  They having been in a number of DVDs I've watched certainly enhanced the experience for me.  Indeed, I've also taken DVDs to a number of these sessions and have their scenes in the background.  This is great fun and tends to lead to some pretty interesting conversation and exchanges.

first of all, if the money to see a porn star is an issue, I'd strongly avoid it.  You are setting really high expectations and setting yourself up for a fall, especially if you are only going to see one or two.

my best and worst experiences were with porn stars - although the best FAR outnumber the bad ones.   my experience has been the morst strikingly beautiful (and i've seen a couple knockouts) the more mechanical has been my experience, almost as if they like a porcelain vase - but there are exceptions I'm sure.

it just depends on your fantasy.   i have to have some sense of connection and intimacy to enjoy my time - if I sense there is disinterest it's over for me no harm no foul, but every person is differenet I know.

but back to what is FANTASTIC about many porn stars, and that is simply that a lot of them are VERY COMFORTABLE with their sexuality - yes they may have got in to porn because of $$ but also because of the sexual experimentation it offerered, hence they are many that really enjoy a lot of their work (in moderation), and frankly for them an escort date can be less staged (don't have to be pounded up their ass for 30 minutes you know) so they can often enjoy that part of it more as well.   and while the fantasy of banging a porn star is nice, the fact that many really are not jaded at heart is a plus  

 
I've had great experiences with non-porn stars, very good ones with a couple on par with my best times with porn stars, but overall you will get what you pay for, if you just want sex, then why see a porn star?, but if you want to experience one, I'd suggest don't do it unless you think you will end up doing 3-4 girls/session, and also realize once you have had ribeye, then flat steak aint so good so just have your eyes wide open.  forget fillet mignon, it just doesn't taste as good as ribeye

My experience has been that they are really no different than any other beautiful ladies. I have had the pleasure to have seen several.They were all down to earth real people and mostly are fun, well educated and of course talented. I don't think most of them take time to screen personally, the more famous ones use agencies for that purpose.They are more expensive, but mostly because they are famous to various degrees. All of my experiences have been wonderful.

That said, several people here have made some good points.  There's one other thing to consider:  what do you want out of the experience?

If you want mind-blowing sex, you don't need a porn star for that.  There are plenty of escorts around the country who can give you that.  Some of them are even better at it than some of the porn stars and they're a lot cheaper for the most part - the better ones are about half the cost of the average porn star.

If you want arm candy to accompany you to a meeting, a show, dinner, a wedding, or some other function where you'll be seen, sure, a porn star will have everyone talking especially if she's recognized.  Is that what you want?  If so, fine.  If not, again, there are plenty of regular escorts around the country who are attractive, and can handle themselves appropriately in social situations, who will make your enemies hate you more than they did before you showed up with that hot young woman, and make you're friends very jealous.

So, what is it that you want from porn stars?  What do they give you that no one else can provide?  There's really only one thing: the fantasy.  You've seen her on film, you've probably masturbated watching her, you wish you could fuck someone like that and...lo and behold... for a thousand or two thousand (or more) dollars, you can.  You can live out that fantasy.  If you have the money to spend, and can afford to spend it, why not fulfill that fantasy and give yourself a lasting memory?   And the next time you watch one of her films, you can say "I did that".

I've heard some people liken "dating" porn stars to climbing Mt. Everest.  Yes, there are plenty of other mountains to climb, and climbing Everest is costly, and dangerous.  But, in the end, doing it gives you a lasting memory and the right to say "I climbed that".  It's the same with porn stars as escorts - they are more costly, there are plenty of other less costly options, but in the end you have a memory and can say "I did that".

Whether you're planning to see a porn star, or a "regular" escort, DO YOUR HOMEWORK!  Read the reviews and see what people say about her so you don't walk into the date with unrealistic expectations and so you don't choose to see someone who isn't going to provide you with the type of experience you're looking for - not every woman will do everything.  And, I've repeated this many times and people still don't get it: just because a woman does something on film, or she does something with a guy who reviewed her, DOES NOT MEAN that she is going to do it with YOU.  They always have the right to say "no".

Now, on to your second question: whether or not date-check is sufficient for screening purposes depends entirely on the girl and/or the agency.  Some are ok with just that as a screening process.  Others are not.  It certainly doesn't hurt to be on that site but references from girls you've seen, or being whitelisted here on TER are much more useful, in my experience.

A couple of things,  

First with a porn star you are paying for the opportunity to fuck a celebrity thus the cost are higher than a normal escort.

I recently contacted an agency about a very famous PS, and was quoted a price of upwards of $1800per hour. Now for that rate I expect a level of exclusivity, i.e. bbfs, that she said wasn't offered. It's only worth it if you've had serious downstairs feelings for someone/s in particular. I've been pleased more than let down, but I have had a few expensive lackluster times.
