Hey, just a heads up for anyone looking to book with Madelyn Marie.

I tried booking with her through Adonia and she told me that Madelyn virtually never sees Blacks, with the implication that I should book with someone else.

I was rather surprised hearing this since I thought she was more progressive than that.

Then I emailed Madelyn herself about it and she wouldn't give me a straight answer on the subject.

It's surprising, but it's better to know before trying to schedule with her.

Thanks for the info.

I wish providers would put in their ads that they do not see Blacks. They have every right to see who they wish and I don't have any problem with them not seeing minorities.

However, stating it in their ads would save a lot of time and effort for everyone involved.

You told me directly after I emailed you that it was more miss than hit when it came to Madelyn seeing Blacks.

And when I emailed Madelyn I was given the run around without her answering the question.

So obviously the message is clear on that issue.

Also, there wasn't any point in giving you my references if I couldn't book with her.

You, I or rest of the world collectively are not going to solve race problem. Like religion, this is a problem no one really wants to solve. So, why post about it, move on.

Are these folks so important? Don't think so.

Besides, people have a right to see whomever they prefer. I don't eat in all restaurants, have certain preferences. Does that mean I discriminate against those restaurants? No. I just don't want to got there to eat.

I don't know MM (I would love to, however), but if an agency can't get an answer out of a lady, they can't get it to you.  This is evidenced by the lack of a reply from MM.

Yes, it sucks that it's still this way, but everybody reserves the right to make their own decisions. TLC has an excellent reputation with both the guys and girls.

I have tried and tried to see certain providers and PS's, but after a point for whatever reason, it was made clear that my money was just no good.  Would you really want to see MM at this point?  Maybe an intial email asking who is interacial friendly would be a better tact.

I bet this can all be fixed once we settle down and communicate again.  BTW, I very seldom the voice of reason in these matters, so please take advantage of this anomaly.

I emailed Madelyn about a booking and she asked me to send references. I responded by asking her if she could just let me know if she saw Black men, because otherwise what would be the point of sending references.

She wouldn't give me a straight answer when the question was very simple to answer so that was the end of the conversation.

As for the racism charge, I never once accused you of that in my two emails. And I can post them if you'd like.

And for some reason it appears you're combining my emails with someone else's that you talked with.

As for twitter, I wouldn't contact you that way nor would I have any reason to after the discussion was concluded.

And after you chose not to answer my respectfully asked question I ended the conversation and it was settled from my perspective.

Setting everyone straight!

I TRUST my bookers 100000000%. They screen everyone equally no matter what your sex, race, or physical ability!!! Have I seen men of opposite race: YES! Will I see men of opposite race: YES, IF their references and screening clears JUST like John Smith the white doctor... No one is treated differently. If my bookers do not book me with you their is a REASON. For the individual that contacted me REPEATEDLY... In every email you came at me as if I was racist, you tweeted inappropriate questions and comments and you mediately assumes it was personal choice on my part, due to your ignorance! I never gave you a straight answer because I DO NOT HAVE TO explain myself to anyone, especially to someone that is accusing me of being racist! NEWS FLASH: I worked with Carlos Carrara he is half black and I am married to Ramon Nomar whom is a dark spaniard.. Obviously I am NOT RACIST!!!! Anyone that contacts me personally about a booking gets a simple email back asking about references and if you do not have any I give you a list of agencies to go threw.. SIMPLE. I will NOT discuss this any longer with anyone and I am baffled that I even had to write this! Its 2010 people stop pulling a NON EXISTENT racial card...

You have said several times that if she had just answered your question, it would have been done......well maybe she wont answer any questions from someone until they are verified.  I mean, you dont have any reviews here for her to look at, so you cant blame her.

You may have SEVERAL good references to give a lady, but if she chooses to only give information to people after they are verified, well then thats her choice to do.....simply as its your choice to not want to provide references until all your questions are answered.

Just a different look at it, and not meant to start a debate.

Cheers

Well that may be her policy, but all of the women I've ever contacted in the past on this issue have answered the question and just say yes they do or no they don't see Blacks.

And answering the question saves on time, because why send in references only to be told sorry they won't see you because of race?

And I can appreciate her perspective on the matter, but I would imagine a number of people wouldn't want to risk sending in their references only to be rejected.

And such a policy has probably cost her a fair amount of money.

I, for one, appreciate the clarification, Madelyn.  I look forward to meeting you one day and hopefully soon we'll see you in an IR scene too.  Take care.
