She was UTR. Then she was openly available for awhile. Back to UTR after that. Then eventually out. And this was all after being in the WWE and doing Playboy. So maybe she didn't make as much money as is being assumed.
Wrasslers don't always make big bucks. And even if they do, there is a lot of maintenance that goes in to keeping the body in shape, recovering from injuries (which WWE does actually cover much of that cost), and the big one: travel. WWe does not reimburse the wrasslers for the travel, hotel, or food. That's all on the wrassler. Also, WWE does not provide any trainers or nutritionists, so the wrasslers maintenance is on them. That can add up when you are on the road 250-300 days a year.
Playboy does not pay out like everyone thinks. If they did, then why do so many of their ex models and ex - (and occasionally even current) playmates end up joining the hobby or doing other things. Even with the celebrity layouts, they are not giving 7 figure deals to every celebrity. A lot more celebrities get paid in the low 6 figures, which granted is still a lot of money, but not like I-can-be-lazy-not-work-for-a-few-years type money.
Also, as we have seen with other pro athletes and entertainers, wrasslers aren't always the best managers of their money.
