So, I was an escort for 8 years on and off (used to be a different name in my early years then took a hiatus). I considered doing porn but it wasn't a huge priority.  
 
When I was scouted out, I definitely had to think about family, my at-the-time boyfriend's family and job, etc. But eventually I decided to say fuck it and I love it!  
 
Do any of you ladies consider doing porn or no? I have always been very "out" which is unusual, but I'm curious about the pros and cons for others!

I certainly have heard that many porn stars can get a bit entitled and aren't as "service-oriented" once they make a name for themselves. blech. The other thing is that I do find THIS way more rewarding, not just financially but also I love intimacy. But then again, I love the fast pace of performing. Another notable mention is that so many of these old-school porn stars hate on escorts SO hard. Even some newer ones. SO stupid. There just seems to be such a gap between escort and porn and I'm always trying to figure out why!

My mentor was a porn star and there are a lot of perks but the pay isn't worth it. If you are an escort there is no way you will be shooting and having sex on film for such little pay. You have to have a passion for it. My best friend who is also a provider is branching out. First thing is first they don't want you to be a provider so you would have to use a different name and I guess from there link them or change it to your porn star name. I just hear the pay isn't worth it so that's where the passion comes in. If you want it go for it. Bangbros post on BP all the time. Check it out. Also Cali and Phx is were these producers are located.... most of them. OR you can find an agent that can help you but you can not be an escort.

Sorry, but I don't believe this is entirely true.  I've known porn stars who have done both escorting and filming at the same time... well, not exactly at the same time but they have been active in shooting scenes and escorting on the side.  And they've used the same name for both.   Yes, some of the companies want the women to use different names but not all of them.

If you want names, take a look at the rosters of TLC, Pam Peaks, or even the Cathouse in Reno (Denis Hof's place) - you'll see names of women who are still actively filming, and also actively escorting.  I'd say maybe 30% of the ladies who are still filming and also escorting on the side are doing it UTR but that's a rough guess - don't hold me to it.

Yes, it's true the women make more money escorting than they do filming.  And yes, it's true that you have to have a passion for the filming - just listen some time to Evan Stone's description of what it's like to be a male porn star and shoot a scene - he's hilarious.  He's done it a couple of times at Exxxotica.  It may be on Youtube.

But I think you've overly simplified the situation, and may be looking at it only from the view of certain companies and limited experience.  The bottom line is that yes, you can be a porn star and an escort at the same time.

Sorry hun. But you could not be MORE wrong in your assessment. MOST porn stars supplement their income by escorting. And yes, they are doing so while actively filming scenes. I could actually also name a few that are DEEP DEEP DEEP under the radar as well. But i'm not dumb enough to do so for obvious reasons. Hell, all you have to do is perform a review search for porn stars and THAT will dispel the notion that active girls don't escort.

If I may I will attempt to try and answer best as I can or know how.  For one, I think that adding porn star to your profile with legit titles is a great enhancer.  From a fan/client perspective, if I see a profile and it says "XXX Star"  I google the name and see if it hits.  That is the ultimate fantasy as a client, to actually have sex with someone he/she has been rubbing on out too.  I have read some bad reviews of P-stars though, and it does seem that some, not all get above themselves with arrogance, and thats not good i suppose.  Economically, from what I've heard, and I'm just guessing but girls get somewhere between $1,200 to $1,600 per shoot depending on all what they do and thats a full days work.  Some P-stars charge that per hour so the math is in favor of escorting in that regard.  Film is for branding, establish your name then cash in via escorting, touring as a feature dancing etc.  One thing I do see in favor of escorting is the ability to hide ones identity i.e. blurred face pics, aliases etc.  When porn goes viral, it's out there forever, so If a lady decided to retire out of that realm and do the normal family stuff her videos remain out there forever.  As a client, it makes a huge difference, not just look wise, but performance wise.  If I were to see a pornstar then I'd want to have an experience that I could look back on with the sense of total fulfillment.  I know it's no big deal to the girl, but to the client it's a once and a lifetime chance to act out a fantasy in the flesh with the girl of his choice.  Speaking for the majority of us that don't always have $2,000 to blow (no pun intended) in on hour lol.  I too have heard and seen some of the old-school stars say derogatory things about escorting, but really whats the difference?  In porn, some girls are doing some of the nastiest scenes possible in order to demand more per shoot.  In escorting, your getting paid more, with the ability to be seen when you want to be seen, charge your own rates, and set your own rules.  No need to try and figure out why, it's human behavior at it's highest level summed up into one word, hypocrisy.  I've seen several girls before they "made it" so to speak, and personally that made me even more of a fan because I could sit back and say with a bit of high-school childishness "I tapped that."  I don't see why you can't do both, maybe theres a little bit of hate from other girls, but oh well, at the end of the day your getting paid for your sexual talents either way.

Sure, for many clients, it would be a fantasy to be able to meet with a porn star for a session. Providers can definitely benefit financially from having a porn star title.  Loaded clients would probably don't care and just want to be like Charlie Sheen. I believe most clients would take a bite if the porn star is someone they really like since most are on a budget.  

For me, a rational hobbyist, it's more about the vibe, potential connection, and the actual service quality, not the sex part, the interaction part. As a client, I'd still know whether the connection is genuine, merely a part of service, or a bit of both that being blended professionally.  

The potential con I can think is the mismatch. While providers may think they are catering toward more elite clientele like what a rate increase can normally do, clients' expectation could be become higher given the higher price tag and the porn star title. A providers may think of doing a regular session with the typical rundown and two pops, while the clients want to reenact her porn scenes they love watching.  Or a provider just follow the script to deliver hot as hell 'performance' as if she is on set but doesn't notice the client needs the personal touch of an escort in order NOT to feel mechanical.    

This is not a problem for the providers who actually enjoy the sex work and did not use the porn star title to earn more fast bucks while they still can. Anyway, sex work is sex work, but the mature and professional mentality of being a porn star seems to be different from that of being an escort. Not every sex worker can master both (like you).

I use the same name in either case and porn is great for my escort business. Its about the long-haul. Yes, porn pays way less, but I have been able to/had to bring my rate up $200 already in 6 months of shooting.  

I think porn is a great investment of time if you are in it for the long-haul and really enjoy the sex industry. I also have an agent and am co-owner of my agency, so most of your perspective is just slghtly off. Its really not so cut-n-cry anymore. Used to be.

It kind of sucks. I have publicly vowed to never hide being an escort even in porn. It sucks that girls have to... but nearly ALL girls escort who are porn stars. Maybe except the hard-headed old-schoolers like Lisa Ann.

You're right. There really is no difference. Except maybe that the porn stars who don't escort are making FAR less money and are bitter about it. And they are doing what they do on film - for forever. Escorting is at least private.. so I have no clue how hey legitimize hating on escorts. Its clearly just about having different limits.

Yes, many girls who make it big become very entitled. Its hard not to when you have fans inflating your ego. But I think the ones who get like that the worst really just get bored of the attention. I think the ones who really love to fuck and love to perform and love to escort, don't get like that.

I really never want to hike my rate up like that! I like being accessible to the clientele I have now! I have had to a little bit, because its a weird balance between being "affordable" but also not looking like a cheap whore when you're a porn star. Some "porn stars" I know of charge minimal rates but only because they have to. So its almost like the rate is a reflection of how quality you are.  

I was happy with my $600 rate back in chicago but now that I'm in LA I had to do $800.. Both cost of living but also for appearances, oddly. Once I brought my rate up a little bit, I brought myself back into that higher tier. In Chicago, girls usually aren't over 6 or 7 unless they are visitors... and porn stars lol
