Reports are that Kandi Barbour a former porn star and exotic dancer was discovered dead on the street in San Francisco about a week ago. She was homeless.
Barbour worked in the industry from 1978 to 1984 and appeared in such classics as Neon Nights, Sexboat, The Pink Ladies, Champagne for Breakfast and Platinum Paradise. _________________________________________________________________________

my first favorite porn star back in the day. A beautiful girl who made her scenes memorable back in the era when porn flicks tried to have plots and some storyline.
Sex Boat was a porn classic and she was tremendous in that flick.
I read this in the morning, and couldn't stop thinking about it all day................extremely sad. Though some can come out and survive this industry unscathed, that is usually the exception to rule. It unfortunately destroys most. I can remember watching Sex Boat on VHS.......back in High School Sigh. Very, very sad.
I didn't know who she was before this post(way way before my time), but it is very sad indeed. I don't know what happened to her later in life for her to become homeless but its sad and tragic. When they move on from the industry, you don't know what happens to them, but you hope they live happy, healthy, rewarding lives.

My very first PS Experience. Wasn't hobby related, just met her while she was touring/dancing about 1980. We hit it off, had a couple of drinks and enjoyed each others company for the next couple of days.
She was a really fun, nice, beautiful, intelligent woman. I knew who she was, and had a long discussion of her life in the biz. She gave me the impression that she really hated the business, and hated the way it made her feel about herself.
My first porno crush, back in '86, just after she stopped making pictures. Have spent much of the past 25 years trying to find her. She obviously wasn't in seclusion anywhere. Would have liked to have been able to try and make a difference.
From all accounts a nice girl. Simple and country, but not cold or uncaring.

She danced a few times at the Melody Theater in New York and used to hang out there Saturdays. She was a beauty. Sorry to hear of her demise. So many porn girls are beauties who are messed up.....sad.
